Hamilton Fundraiser to Defend Free Speech Against Harper July 4

HELP THE CANADIAN ARAB FEDERATION FIGHT FOR FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION FOR ALL CANADIANS!

Just days after the Canadian Arab Federation (CAF) criticized the Canadian government for its one-sided support of Israel's violent incursion in Gaza, the Harper government cut off all federal English-as-a-second language (ESL) funding to CAF. That ESL funding was utilized on behalf of new Canadians of many ethnic origins, not just Arab-Canadians. CAF took legal action against the federal government and is conducting a cross-Canada, fund-raising campaign to cover its legal costs.

Harper's spiteful move against CAF was not an isolated incident. George Galloway, the world's most famous anti-war orator, was banned from speaking in Canada, although George Bush and Bill Clinton, noted war criminals, were permitted to earn huge fees to speak in Toronto and Calgary.

At the same time, students and faculty at many Canadian campuses who compared the actions of the State of Israel towards Palestinians as a form of apartheid were targeted for harassment, surveillance, and intimidation.

Khaled Mouammar, Canadian Arab Federation President, will speak on the Harper government's hidden agenda.
