Everybody ready to show Redford and her ilk the door???
Alberta election will without a doubt happen this spring. I think it's a forgone conclusion the provinical conservatives are about to be shown the door with a resounding boot from all tangents of the political spectrum, but we need to get the word out.
What they've done to property rights in this province alone is enough reason to send them out of town on a rail. If you're not up on this, you need to check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EdIAsAi9v4
You may think this is more of a rural concern, but it's not. If you own, or ever intend to own ANYTHING in Alberta, be it an apartment, a small acerage to grow a garden on or even a farm, you need to be right concerned about what what the provincial con's have been sneaking through.
Here's more info: http://www.landownersagainstbills.com/
I'm not affiliated in any way with either of these links. I own land in AB and want my grandchildren to be able to own it and farm it. If the cons get their way this will not happen.
Further, if they're not stopped we could lose a lot of urban jobs. Maybe even yours, so you need to take this seriously.
Your links are too slow for my dialup access to download - what are they, a call for 'property rights'?
The youtube link is an Edmonton based lawyer discussing bill 36, and why every Albertan should be very concerned about it.
The second link is to a group that has formed because of and to fight bills 19, 24, 36, and 50. I'd suggest you contact your mla, and ask him/her about these bills. Demand information on them.
Essentially, the provincial conservatives have been busy sneaking through bills that strip Albertans of ALL rights to property. I know that sounds outlandish, but please do some research on this and once you know the facts, you'll want to spread the word. Why the media isn't all over this is beyond me.
Why the media isn't all over this is beyond me.
And that's not all.
So it's about "property rights" then? We've discussed property rights at length here on babble. Thank God there ain't no such thing.
The root of all the bills is powerlines. Big one's. Powerlines that are planned to be built using provincial taxpayer money and then owned by a privately owned utility company once completed. IMO all of these bills are to further that plan.
There is some serious skullduggery going on in Alberta.
People need to know this or we'll all pay for this for decades to come.
Yes, bill 36 is about property rights. After all, can't string a powerline where people don't want it if they have rights, can you?

That attitude is exactly why I oppose property rights.
Once we take power, Boom Boom, we'll make everyone follow our line. Our power line. Filled with our energy. All across the nation!
Our National Energy Powerlines!
Long live the NEP!!
Down with private property!!
Nationalize everything that isn't nailed down, but first, nationalize the nails!
Isn't this going the way that things were back in the middle ages, when Lords owned the land and the serfs farmed it? Long live Queen Allison?
I voted NDP for the first time in the National election and I expect to do the same in the next provincial. This is one ex conservative that's tired of the status quo.
Yeah, she needs to be shown the door, and that thing needs to go with her...iit's meant to be running free in the wild, its antlers must be shredding the drapes in the premier's office and its droppings are probably ground into the legislative carpets....
Oh...sorry, I thought it said "Redford and her elk".
She should get voted out of office anyway, though.
