Racial quotas for Harper's new prisons?
As we all know Harper has a make work plan for his buddies. Build prisons and fill them. Then pay his buddies with public money to run them.
I do not know the racial makeup of Canadian prisons but it probably has a very high number of first nations.
Can we fight for racial equality in prison admissions? Keep the first nations content the same as first nations in the general population?
Harper is going to put a lot of people in prison. Everyone knows that institutional racism is the biggest open secret in Canada. And lets be honest, there is a huge under-current of racism in society in general.
Putting a quarter of the native population in prison is going to embed these attitudes forever.
Harper's vision for Canada is to ape the USA, we have to slow him down.

According to Michelle Alexander, the United States "imprisons a larger percentage of its black population than South Africa did at the height of apartheid" WAY TO GO!!!! In fact, if you look at the chart, the only country in Africa that sends as many blacks to prison as the USA does is Rwanda! I propose that you fix this by either 1. Letting the black guys go free, or 2. going for the record by putting an extra 2 or 3 million white guys in prison and evening up the racial numbers at the same time.

(I don't actually believe in quotas for anything but I think some sort of fight is needed before we end up like the States). If something like this is needed to keep the wrong people out of prison, or just to help people come to terms with the wrongness of it all, lets at least talk about it.
I never knew the rules of this forum so this will be my last post in this thread.

Black Power
1/3rd of all black men aged 18-34 in the USA are imprisoned read that somewhere. Made Me Think. 3 to 1 female ratio on the outside; exact same to a tee when they counted the TCHC complexes for many parts of Toronto.
