Atlantica Party in the news
Nova Scotia has a new officially recognized political party, and its president says it intends to run a candidate in every riding at the next provincial election.
The Atlantica Party's Jonathan Dean said the new entity will run on a platform promoting fiscally conservative policies and electoral reform.
"It's refreshing to see how much hunger there is actually out there for reform and how dispirited the typical Nova Scotia voter is," Dean said Wednesday.

As an independent, Dean finished about 1% behind the Green Party candidate. If the Atlantica party, currently 4 days old, whups the Greens next time around I'll die laughing.
The race of the tiny snails.
The NS Greens could easily lose their subsidy even if the Atlantica Party pulled as little as 0.5% from them- taking them below the 2% threshold.
Mind you, they GOT a lot of money in the first 2 years of the subsidy.... but now that the amount is per vote only, its down to a pittance. But that pittance would be about 100 times what they fundraise.
It's all about money.
Looks like we've got another 'Natural Law'-type party to laugh at, as if the provincial Green Party wasn't laughable enough already!
