Principal Reinstated

The decision to bring back the controversial principal of Graham Creighton Junior High School reflects the wishes of the school community, the chairperson of the Halifax Regional School Board said Thursday.
Irvine Carvery said the board did not consider the wishes of the school advisory committee when it decided to dismiss Ken Fells in May after an incident involving a student who said Fells choked him.

The man should have been charged with assault. Didn't they have video? Just trying to recall...

I am not saying that he should have been reinstated, nor that it is okay to get physical with kids.
On the other hand, I doubt this situation is quite that simple. Many of us know that the system in many schools is badly broken, and some students, parents and teachers suffer because of it.
I am sure for one thing, that the girl who was in those photos might appreciate that he went to the lengths he did to protect her privacy, even if his methods were wrong. If he had done the right thing and let him walk with that device the pictures would be all the way to Australia by now.

And I think it is also sure that other students who are so inclined will think twice before committing harmful and disrespectful acts.
