Municipal elections were held across Newfoundland and Labrador this week.
In Paradise, one of the larger towns on the province's populous northeast Avalon, the election day result for the mayoral race was 1,821 to 1,818 votes -- a 3 vote lead for 19 year old university student Kurtis Coombs over incumbent mayor and former NL Liberal cabinet minister Ralph "lucky draw" Wiseman.
Today a recount produced a tie and the new mayor was chosen by a draw.
