babble is rabble.ca's discussion board but it's much more than that: it's an online community for folks who just won't shut up. It's a place to tell each other — and the world — what's up with our work and campaigns.

I was just on my facebook account posting comments on the page for "Canadians for a public inquiry onto G20 protests" or something like that..

Just my usually don't trust the capitalist class, the working class needs to hold a citizens inquiry and other such things.

Next thing you know, my assount is disabled.

Has this happened to anyone else around here?

Weird!  No, and I've been posting all sorts of stuff on FB about the protests and the cops.

Is it possible that you have "friends" who are flagging your posts as offensive or something?

Oh ya. It happens to me all the time. Just not on facebook. Actually, the only place it happens is a forum called rabble. Wonder why?

tinman,

The nly thing you are proving by keeping opening new accounts and barging in (unwanted) is that you are a hooligan and bereft of any sense of dignity. Why don't you go to a forum where you will be more welcome, amongst like-minded ?

This same thing happened to me this morning. It said my account was temporarily disabled because of a security breach. It was easy enough to fix (took 2 minutes and involved identifying people in pictures). I'm also a member of that G20 Inquiry group but hadn't thought that had anything to do with it.

Im trying to get back on and have sent them an e-mail... I might just pack facebook in if they do not reinstall my account. I don't have many friends as I didn't go about looking for any. i was just using it for things like this and local happenings.

Up date on my Facebook account. Ok the is no change.

I have done the things to rectify the situation but no change. One of my friends told me today, that I am not one of his friend contacts anymore.

I've come to a couple of conclusion on this. 1-there are government types monotoring that facebook page, didn't like what I was saying and kept hitting the "report" button on the comments. 2- There are pro government type people on that page and were doing it.

Either way, it doesn't matter. Facebook deactivated my account because I was expressing my socialist political views.

Absolutely. Dare we try to see if the same can be done for pro-government propaganda? I doubt it.

Were you using your real name on Facebook or a pseudonym? If the latter then your opponents may have flagged you on the pretext that you are using a fake name and had your account disabled that way.

Ya I did have a fake name.It was "Ex Communicated". I thought it was funny. I've told a few people this story and they seem shocked. I'm the furthers from shocked. It took me a long time to start up a Facebook account. Knowing full will that it would be so conformist to present political ideologies. Lets put it this way. I find rabble.ca kinda none threating to present political thinking. But at least I know that most people here are well meaning and acceptable of other opinions.

True enough trippie, rabble's just a start but it's the safest place I've found on the web.

Well I feel vindicated in some way... I lost my Facebook account while agitating for a Citizens Inquiry. At the same time telling people not to trust the bourgeoisie and don't wait form them to hold a public inquiry (as they never will).

Now Toronto City counsel has officially praised the police chief for his fine work (locking up working class protesters I guess).

That about sums up the class division and shows us the kind of class warfare we are fighting.

The only question I have now is. When will the majority of the working class realize that you can not reform capitalism or pressure the bourgeoisie to change? We must take the initiative and change the system ourselves.

So I guess being a socialist and aggitating for a Citizens Inquiry is not part of Facebooks policy. There you go, now you have the proof. Facebook is a fascist social networking site.

Just herd about ta bunch of Electricity users that have been billed improperly. They have now been dent a new bill requiring full payment.

Ok all and well, mistakes happen and so forth and so on. Not like anyone was out to screw them over.

But that's not the important thing here.

It was reported also that a Facebook page was set up over this, by angry consumers.

This is telling, as it seems that people have lost all faith in Government and political parties that would normaly represent them in such matters.

People are turning to places like Facebook to fight their battles.

What will happen after they learn that Facebook is a farce?

Trippie, it has happened to me before, about one or two years ago, it was because i posted too many messages too quickly apparently. I never found out why. Anyways, someone might have reported your posts for abuse, it could be any number of reasons. The more political you are, the more enemies you make, potentially speaking.

Ya totally, I agree.

There is an unfortunate side to all of this for me... I live in toronto and it seems that to stay connected you need to be on Facebook. It sucks so I'll have to try and make a new account.

But right now I'm just gonna leave it to the side cause I don't want to deal with the bs of it all.

On my new account I'll just be using it to keep connected to the social scenes in Toronto.
