Record High Barometric pressure

We are having record high barometric pressure readings all over the Pacific Northwest, down into California where the Santa Ana winds are worse because of the pressure gradients.

My own barometer is pinned higher than I have ever seen it, and it has been there for days.

Here is a webblurb on it> http://cliffmass.blogspot.com/

Some have been asking "so, how does this affect the arthritics and others who are sensitive to air pressure?"

Oddly, nothing, for me at least.  My usual muscle cramping and chronic pains are not worse, no headache... Fatigue is really bad, but I have never noticed that fatigue is related to air pressure.

One guy here has a headache, thats all I have heard.

My hunch has allways been that it is the CHANGE in air pressure that brings on the pains... maybe we will learn something here.

So, how are the chronic pain people doing in this record high pressure? Anyone?

funny, i live in winnipeg and i'm not sure if this is happening here since i don't follow the barometric pressure, but i notice that during large temperature swings i feel like crap.  The other day when it went from +7 to -14 i was tired, cramped, sore....

i should start observing pressure and see if it's related!

Achy joint bulletin: I am aches and pains-free at the moment. It's warmer than average here in Ontario, and I think that's associated with low pressure systems. High pressure - cold air, no? Anyway, I did have a massive sinus headache recently, but I think it was during a week of cool to cold temperatures.

aaaaaaand, it finally drops.

Two days ago the barometric pressure started to drop after being up so high, not allways "record high" but very high.

High baro pressure days are usually clear sky, and low pressure is stormy as a general rule.

Chronic pain people often say "it is the CHANGE in barometric pressure that bothers most".

For me, it is the change that bothers. I did have some bad days during the past 10 days but HEADACHES were less severe than, for example, today. Or yesterday, as the drop began three days ago.

PS - I had a very special event to be at on Monday, with very difficult travel, and mercifully the drop began on Tuesday as I was on my way home. Sometimes it seems there are gods who can give individuals a break now and then!!
