Man-made chemical compounds are a threat to human health.

That has long been denied by medical and industrial people, but it is true nonetheless.

Recent revalations about the use of Agent Orange in Canada, and the compensation being offered to the victims, have established a list of known health effects from toxins. Here is a partial list:

chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)
soft tissue sarcoma
non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
Hodgkin's disease
chloracne
respiratory cancer (of the lung/bronchus, larynx or trachea)
prostate cancer
multiple myeloma
early onset transient peripheral neuropathy
porphyria cutanea tarda
type 2 diabetes
spina bifida

Agent Orange also causes various birth defects.

There are a lot of health problems that are not easily linked to a cause. "Modern illnesses", things that were never issues 100 years ago, or never seen until recently, are possibly ALL due to man-made chemical toxins.

When I was 5 years old, the town crews sprayed the empty lots adjacent to where I lived, in order to keep the weeds down. There was a bit of wind blowing towards out house that day, and I happened to be playing in the back yard at the time. Within a week my dad's garden died. Within a year, I started to have problems. I am disabled by illness now, 50 years later.

Is there a connection to the chemicals and health problems? We don't know. We could know, but we don't - the studies are either not done or not done right, or they are simply not published if they show a connection.

Increasing cancer rates, dementia, nerve disorders - having those conditions can mean unending torture for the victims. Chronic pain is probably much more common now than ever before, and yet the prevailing attitude is that "it is all in your head", which creates another type of mental torture for the victims. Life isn't worth living like that, and sure enough suicide rates are higher than ever before.

Increasing cancer rates, dementia, nerve disorders are just part of the story. Learning disorders and autism are particularly troubling conditions that are probably related to man-made chemical toxins. These are our children, the next generation, the hope of the future, and we are poisening them.

There is also the effect on the environment. Man-made chemical compounds are creating mayhem in nature. Remember when bird's egg shells were going soft due to DDT? The authorities didn't admit that for several years after scientists first made the connection.

This is an interesting subject NoahScape.  I don't have time now but will come back to it.  Please carry on.
