Bad day for Mulroney is good day for Liberals

OTTAWA—Thirteen years ago, the federal Liberal government handed over $2 million and an apology to former prime minister Brian Mulroney for damage done to his reputation.

Now, in the wake of a damning report on the cloudy business dealings of Mulroney and the now-imprisoned German lobbyist Karlheinz Schreiber, Liberals want their money back. Or, more correctly, they think Canadians should get their money back.

And if you put that together with the money the Liberals owe us from ad scam, we might be able to buy a couple MRI's for a couple of hospitals.

It'd be a start.

Good point Tommy. The "ruling parties" have been there too long, they are all corrupted. I cannot believe more Canadians are now enraged at the crimes of both Liberals and Conservatives.

Every contract, every time money moves, someone is there with their hand in the cookie jar. No wonder they love spending money. I like to imagine how well off we could all be if government money was spent wisely... but ya, it is just a fantasy as long as these same crooks keep getting into power.

And the ARE just crooks. Basic thieves, but bigger amounts of money.

Still, it was good news that they found Mulroney guilty. And we should ask for that $200,000 {the "apology" to Brian Fartface} back

If I'm not correct, I believe the settlement was $2 million. In real governmental economic terms, it's less of a drop in the bucket then the ad scam ammount, but it still never surprises me that governments of all stripes manage to be corrupt. The NDP are just as succeptable. Look at Dexter's first month in power and how many of his own ministers have quit as a result of bad accounting (or in other words, buing stuff for yourself that the average Canadian cannot aford and you obvciously don't need to do your job). So How do we get our politician to be less corrupt? Any thoughts on that matter. Of course, if the topic creater would like, I can make that question into another discussion.
