We heard the Cannon's echo yesterday [Jan 4th 2009]

Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon, that is!!

Harper's government is echoing Right Wing American sentiments on every issue, this time about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict [despite the fact that a majority {?} of Canadians are not blaming the Palestinians for this brutal, one-sided war] -

-----------

January 4, 2009

The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today issued the following statement regarding the situation in Israel and the Gaza Strip:

Advice for ceasefire: "starting with the halting of all rocket attacks on Israel"

"Canada maintains that the rocket attacks are the cause of this crisis"

-------------

Jan 4th 2009:

Cheney stressed the US support for the Gaza operation, saying the rocket fire on Israel must stop.

-------------

But I guess we knew that allready.

Yes, Iggy beat him to it. However, it is difficult to support random rocket attacks into Israel. Rocket attacks achieve no more public support then Military incursions.

There are many problems in the Conflict, but those in Gaza will not win a PR campaign with rockets.  It is there choice to continue, just as it is Israels choice to continue with military force.
