Give Harper a Banana
I first put this in the election discussion page but it deserves its own page.
I started a facebook page but I am a real neophyte at this-- if anyone can help me make it better please offer suggestions-- you can PM me.
If you can like it that would be great better yet go on it and write on the wall examples of where Harper has damaged democracy in Canada. As well if you have a chance to give a Conservative a Banana virtually or not -- and can get a picture please post that!

I had this idea a while back that people should bring bananas to rallies and present to Cons where possible-- The CPC wants to turn Canada into a banana republic-- we should bring bananas as a reminder of that and a sign of resistance. I just tweeted this -- do you think anyone could pass it on? Get it out there?
Can you look it up and let me know what you think?

Canada needs 'ownership' of local firms
- 54% of all manufacturing in Canada was foreign-owned.
- 48.8% of oil and gas extraction was foreign-owned.
- Total foreign-controlled assets stood at over $1.354 TRILLION, up over $130 billion from the year before.
Bear in mind that all of these figures are much higher today. And, the Harper government's new budget tells us that "New rules set stage for wave of foreign capital" (Globe). So, get ready to say goodbye to the vitally important telecommunications industry, the uranium industry, what's left of bookselling, and God knows what they're going to sell out next.
It's hard to keep up with how little the feds know about the hollowing out of Canada since they scrapped the Foreign Investment Review Agency fought-for and won by the NDP years ago. Now it's a free for all. Our stooges don't even want anyone to keep track of how they've been selling the country out from under us while dropping us down a debt hole. If Mulroney through herr Harper were CEOs of corporations, they'd have been fired off the job years before they were finally given pink slips from voters. Crooks and liars and crooked-liars all. DAY O!

Please post on the wall of the facebook page-- if we get enough we might get media --especially if people can deliver real bananas to Conservaitves -- even just their campaign offices..

Are you going to get organic fair trade bananas or are the Herpetics not worth the extra money?
I am not sure if the type of bananas matter-- a picture of a banana on recycled paper mightbe just as good....
