More than that, many of us became impressed that our leaders had finally started to admit the truth even at the possible expense of votes in our overly politically-correct world.

Now, suave French president Nicolas Sarkozy (have you seen his wife?) has caught the wave and has spoken the obvious: multiculturalism has failed.
I applaud all three of them for their honesty, not to mention their balls.

They're kind of vague on how exactly it is multiculturalism has failed other than to point to a small minority of immigrants with especially radical religious or political views - who presumably would maintain those views whether they were officially allowed to or not. History shows you don't successfully integrate minority communities by putting them under assault.
What Carla Bruni-Sarkozy's (an Italian marrying a descendent of Hungarian refugee aristocrats, now there's multiculturalism!) appearance has to do with any of this, I don't know.
Leigh Patrick is a banned babbler. Banned him back when I was still getting paid to do this stuff. I blame what was at the time new software for the fact that he is here now, but he's history.
