85% of the votes were cast in advance.

Any movement between the candidates now is almost entirely symbolic, not strategic. Very few people are watching the convention floor for what they do next. I suspect that all 15% of the real-time votes might not show up in the second round.

I don't think any of the candidates will throw support to another candidate. Seeing as their support would only be symbolic, it's more valuable to use their endorsement as a symbol of unity than a symbol of "trying to stop" another candidate.

Any besides Singh that is.

I've often felt like Cullen is the most "exciting" candidate. That is, picking him has the most potential to build a young and energetic movement, as opposed to the more conventional leadership candidates.

I'm honestly not sure what to do. Me and my GF are gonna talk. I think we might vote for different people.

Looks like Rathika Sitsabaiesan has endorsed Nash.

So, who's the best "stop Mulcair" vote for the second ballot?  Cullen?  Topp?

Cullen: must be happiest of all.

Mulcair: looks happy and now all of Singh's votes will go to him

Topp: who has been the odds on favourite with the party establishment since the beginning looks disappointed. Dewar has not come over to him, and his supporters are going all over.

You are spinning. Not that it is new.

Listening to you before, he was guaranteed to be way behind.

Mulcair does not have all of Singh's votes rapped up, though I'm sure he will get the biggest number of them.

And of course Nulcair would look happy. But I seriously doubt that he was pleased with that start. But most people, including supporters, know that.

Boy that James Moore is a jerk! And Codere and Brisson (I can't stand Brisson by the way, and I served with him in the reserve), oh Tom Mulcair is so mean, and look at what a failure the NDP convention was, no one voted. The NDP is going down.

Jerk offs!

I'm very glad that Nash is still in the race. All three of the others will "lead" the party towards the mushy middle. I was somewhat concerned about such drift under Layton, and his posthumous popularity seems to have accelerated the trend.

Most CAW members who have voted for Peggy as their first choice have also selected Cullen as their second choice

I dont know if there is a best anyone but Mulcair strategic choice.

I'm pretty sure that Mulcair would benefit the most from Cullen being the one to drop next. Maybe that makes him the best ABM, but I am not so sure of that.

Per past conventions in BC and Ontario the number of valid votes cast will drop ballot after ballot, largely due to voters' candidates dropping off and not making a second or third choice. I anticipate the number of on-line votes will shrink - after all, people had 14 or so hours to vote on-line for ballot one vs an hour for ballot two. It is delusional to think there is this vasty army of people sitting by their computers on a saturdy morning just waiting to vote when they haven't done so in three weeks. Mulcair has won this race but frankly it's great the media doesn't understand preferential balloting and keeps talking about it. I at first couldn't understand peggy staying in (or cullen for that matter) but they have done the party a service by doing so and stretching out the free tv coverage. Plus the longer it goes it gives MPs time to 'come to Mulcair' and build up the unity narrative. I suggested to someone that Thomas' first dinner guest at Stonoway has to be ED. Other than him, everyone else will be more or less happy.

Two of three got through, with slight delays, through refreshing, but vote three in this house is hanging and not going through

On the third try I logged in ok, and got as far as "Vote" -- then it crashed again!

The voting site is crashing for radiorahim as well - he's getting a time-out.  Probably a server overload.

Naomi Klein: Some of the people crossing the floor to Mulcair seem to be driven by fear of reprisal, not conviction. Bad sign #ndpldr

Now I can't even get to the secure site at all -- three times in a row!

Naomi Klein ought to be ashamed of herself. How does she know that? Bull ****!

That's nonsense that one candidate's supporters are calling for people to be fired in head office.

The Topp/Broadbent establishment must be quite disappointed to only get 21% seeing as Topp was the odds on favourite at the beginning of this race.

- Topp - much better than I thought. A member of my family just noted the NDP's fear of success and I truly believe that's what forms Topp's base. So Monday, instead of the triumphant debut our our leader in the HoC we could have the anti-climactic presence of yet another interim leader as our Quebec support continues to bleed. Aren't we clever.

- Nash - shocked by this. And sad. She deserved better. What the hell happened?

I'm surprised you seem to think Mulcair will probably lose.

I'm amnong those not suprised by Peggy's showing. Quite a while back I decided she is too poor a preformer, and dithered too much. I didn't expect that sense to spread, but I'm not surprised it apparently did.

But I'm responding mostly to take major exception that Topp's support is all about not caring about winning. It's not like there haven't been plenty of us here on Babble saying otherwise.
