This lead me to thinking that Canada should concider funding research into Draco, it would save the lives of countless Canadians, and reduce suffering globally, but I believe the Canadian Government has rules that only support funding for Canadian Research. While I applauding supporting home grown talent, can't key exceptions be made for technology like this be made, Draco is worth it, 3.5 million could help it get to a key next stage soooooo much faster, and the sooner it gets advanced enough it could start saving lives.
The people at Draco Fund are trying fundraise the money, and I encourage those of you who can afford to donate to do so, and for those of us, who can't right now, can try and pressure the Canadian government to pony up and help them fund this research. Call or text your favourite MPs, I plan to. I'm even concidering setting up a petitiion to see it get funding from the Canadian Government. I know Harper is an asshole, so its a long shot, but its worth a shot.
Maybe somekind of Partnership between the researchers and Canadian Universities could be developed?
