This is so exciting:

Europeana: think culture is about ideas and inspiration. It links you to 2 million digital items.

* Images - paintings, drawings, maps, photos and pictures of museum objects
* Texts - books, newspapers, letters, diaries and archival papers
* Sounds - music and spoken word from cylinders, tapes, discs and radio broadcasts
* Videos - films, newsreels and TV broadcasts

Some of these are world famous, others are hidden treasures from Europe's

* museums and galleries
* archives
* libraries
* audio-visual collections

It crashed after being launched, but is not back in cautious form. By 2010 they plan to have 10 million digital items available.

I can't speak. I may have to quit work and quit babbling.

It is wonderful. I posted on one of the boards about the first version, but it crashed - nice to see people crashing a board due to cultural interests.

À quand les autres continents? Yeah, I know, it relies on the EU.

When I think of all the 5000-year-old artefacts being destroyed daily in Iraq, makes me ill. :(
