EPA declares CO2 a Health Hazard

These are some words environmentalists and everyone concerned about global warming to take heart:

The Environmental Protection Agency declared global warming a danger to public health and welfare on Friday, a ruling that all but ensures widespread regulation of carbon emissions in the United States. “This finding confirms that greenhouse gas pollution is a serious problem now and for future generations,” EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson said in a statement. “This pollution problem has a solution — one that will create millions of green jobs and end our country’s dependence on foreign oil.” The much-awaited endangerment finding requires the EPA to force power plants, auto companies, manufacturers and other major industrial sources of greenhouse gas to cut their emissions under the Clean Air Act. “The case for finding that greenhouse gases in the atmosphere endanger public health and welfare is compelling and, indeed, overwhelming,” the EPA wrote in its analysis.

I will just leave it there, with those encouraging words that indicate both the reality of global warming from human activities, and that there WILL be action taken to reduce CO2 emissions! Yeah!!

The EPA is also considering using the Clean Water Act to rtegulate CO2 because it is acidifying the ocean.

At long last a tipping point has finally been reached.

Let's just hope it's not too late.
