I've seen jellyfish in my local market. Perhaps a few smoked jellyfish would go well with that mug of Guinness:

instant jellyfish

Available at any chinese grocer in Toronto. However. I understand that there are some species which are edible, and others which are not. Whether little red Irish jellyfish are edible I know not.

Och, it's Northern Ireland! Guinness is Fenian brew. Good Ulster Unionists would drink Caffrey's with their jellyfish.

I Goodled, edible jellyfish. One looked remarkably like a mushroom and, as with mushrooms, I imagine one has to be as careful what one puts in one's mouth - my mother's unforgotten sage advice.

Many who eat "Asian" may not have realized that they were eating jelly fish as they downed their "seaweed" soup:

This second photo is brilliant, isn’t it? I took it but I don’t dive. I just paid the entrance fee to the Singapore aquarium…heehee.

LTJ,

An interesting blog. Lindsay may invite me to lunch, anytime.

At the Asian food court, that I use frequently, it's only through this thread I discover that the seaweed soup that I found a "comfort" food comprised jellyfish as its main ingredient. I always returned for a refill of the bowl, that I would receive at no charge.
