If both parents work, kids get "mental illness" and commit "dreadful crimes": Alberta finance minister
I'm putting this here because it's a transparent attack on women:
She also said good parenting means sacrificing some income to stay at home while kids are young, as her children have done.
"They've understood perfectly well that when you're raising children, you don't both go off to work and leave them for somebody else to raise," Evans said. "This is not a statement against daycare. It's a statement about their belief in the importance of raising children properly."
She also said a lack of education is ruining the upbringing of some children and leading to mental illness and crime.
"The huge failure of Canadians is not to educate the children properly, and then why should we be surprised when they have mental illnesses or commit dreadful crimes?" she said. "We've really got to focus on that properly, and it should be financial literacy as well as anything else."
Fuck it's embarassing to be from Alberta sometimes.

This from a minister of the Alberta government. The same government that declared a War on Edmucashun, back when Ralph was in his staggers, which continues to this day.
She's obviously not referring to the naughty bits of education, like sexuality and evolution. Both of them involve undressed carbon-based life forms.
I thought it peculiar that a career woman would make such statements.

Funny, I cam across a report in the last day or 2, that found that the earlier children start outside the home pre-school activities, the better off emotionally and mentally they are. Knew I should have book marked it.
Apparently, there has been a huge backlash over her comments, and she apologized yesterday trying to circumvent forced resignation, will it work?
I'm impressed with the backlash on this...Metro (street paper) had it on the front page. I think the recent pandering over religious education has managed to get people up in arms and that much more willing to attack our backwards ass cons.
