All hail the peacemakers 20
One of the things I know about Donald Trump is he could care less where the capital of Israel is. What he does care about is being the centre of attention, and diverting attention away from other things.
To him, the recognition of Jersalem as capital of Israel is nothing more than 'look at me, everybody! Look, look here I am!!'
The consequences of stupidity mean nothing to him.
I think Trump is also thinking about all those Christian Evangelist voters who love him and who are even more Zionist than most Israelis.
Trump also has a cohort of neo-Nazi anti-semitic voters. I wonder how they will react...
EHUD BARAK has "broken the silence". He has published an article in The New York Times attacking our prime minister in the most abrasive terms. In other words, he has done exactly the same as the group of ex-soldiers who call themselves "Breaking the Silence", who are accused of washing our dirty linen abroad. They expose war crimes to which they have been witnesses, or even participants.
But apart from the attack on Binyamin Netanyahu, Barak has used the article to publish his Peace Plan. A former chief-of-staff of the Israeli army and a former prime minister, Barak is obviously planning a comeback, and his peace plan is part of the effort. There seems to be, anyhow, open season for Peace Plans in our region.
FOR GOD'S SAKE, are they crazy?
They congregate in the marketplace, boys of 15, 16 years, take stones and throw them at our soldiers, who are armed to the teeth. The soldiers shoot, sometimes over their heads, sometimes straight at them. Every day there are wounded, every few days there are dead.
What for? They do not have the slightest chance of changing the policy of the Israeli occupation. Only very rarely do the boys hit a soldier and cause him a slight injury.
Yet they go on. Why?
