Well she met with Trump in his hotel, and she iis funded by Putin. Maybe they have the wrong one at the centre.

So now the test for Russian influence over a European politician is whether they have meet with the new President of the US. Hmm?

Funded by Putin? Interesting do you have any sources for that or do you mean that her party after trying to borrow money from European banks and being refused borrowed from a Russian bank?

I can't for the life of me figure out why people think that Russophobia runs rampant on this board. That loan of is proof in some people's mind that Putin himself controls her and if she wins power in France she will be a willing slave of Russia. What a load of horseshit.

Chelsea Manning on Obama's legacy:

Compromise doesn't work

Quote:
Barack Obama left behind hints of a progressive legacy. Unfortunately, despite his faith in our system and his positive track record on many issues over the last eight years, there have been very few permanent accomplishments.

This vulnerable legacy should remind us that what we really need is a strong and unapologetic progressive to lead us. What we need as well is a relentless grassroots movement to hold that leadership accountable.

...Now, after eight years of attempted compromise and relentless disrespect in return, we are moving into darker times.

...The one simple lesson to draw from President Obama’s legacy: do not start off with a compromise. They won’t meet you in the middle. Instead, what we need is an unapologetic progressive leader.

...We need someone who is unafraid to be criticized, since you will inevitably be criticized. We need someone willing to face all of the vitriol, hatred and dogged determination of those opposed to us. Our opponents will not support us nor will they stop thwarting the march toward a just system that gives people a fighting chance to live. Our lives are at risk – especially for immigrants, Muslim people and black people.

We need to stop asking them to give us our rights. We need to stop hoping that our systems will right themselves. We need to actually take the reins of government and fix our institutions. We need to save lives by making change at every level.

Obama's Political Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy: Chelsea Manning as Bait   -  by James Petras

"...Instead of celebrating the liberation and vindication of the hero Chelsea Manning in May, the media drowned out the plight of the frail tortured whistleblower with its loud tributes to the mercy and heroism of the serial abuser - Barack Obama."

As there is no unity in progressive circles (as demonstrated on this board every day), how can a progressive leader emerge?

Barack Obama's Great Tower of Nothing: Gentrification On A Presidential Scale

https://www.counterpunch.org/2018/11/02/barack-obamas-great-tower-of-not...

"...I contend that the plutocrat-funded Obama Foundation and Presidential Center play the same role in the long-term transformation of the city's southern lakefront that the Obama presidency did in American politics: that of putting a faux-progressive smiley face on the ugly underlying realities of institutionalized inequality, capitalist skullduggery and white privilege.

As others have noted, this white elephant on the lake is actually a Trojan Horse, using understandable but misplaced racial pride and identity politics and a fuzzy do-gooder mission statement to mask a real estate scheme that is all about neighborhood flipping and displacement of the poor..."
