Canada's Airlines Fear Violating Privacy Under New US Rules

"The program would collect the names, gender and birthdate of the approximately five million Canadians who fly through American airspace...There are no guarantees how the US will use the information..."
Big Brother just keeps getting bigger...
Where they'll store your info...

"data storage may reach the yottabyte level within that same time. A Yottabyte, the largest unit of measure for computer data, equals 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes...The virtual moutains of data needing such huge levels of power to mine can be brain-making. Think zeros gone wild.."
But my question is - what on earth would they do with such information? How could they even organize it? Wouldn't combing through that be like looking for a needle in a haystack?
Far more American airlines use our air space than the other way around. They fly over coming from Northern Europe, The orient and other routes. That plane that carried the bomber overflew our east coast, Quebec and Ontario on the way to Detroit. What if the alleged person was successful and detonated the bomb over Canada?
Perhaps we should ask them for the same thing. (Not that it makes any sense).
This was set to go quite some time ago. I'm surprised people are just talking about this now.
What do they do with the information? They use it against us. Ever fly to Cuba? Try getting into the US after a trip to Cuba. You're going to be treated pretty unfairly.
They use the information to create databases of people whom they consider a threat, which could be anyone at all and the deciding factors are their's alone to determine. I doubt we'll ever know given the Cons and Liberals seem to have no problem throwing canadian citizens under the bus.
