Harvey is being facetious at one point when he says he understands the problem but isn't claiming to know what the solution is. The truth is that he really does know. Thanks 6079_Smith_W, that was worth watching and very entertaining.
I'm not sure that he does. Marxists have usually had trouble on this point, having only a vague idea of what the solution is despite the idea that capitalism's contradictions somehow must resolve themselves...eventually...any year now. That said, it's not like anyone else has fully worked-out plans for an alternative either but maybe that's okay since big social change rarely arrives at once rather than being assembled out of small bits and pieces.
