By popular demand. Smile

Iran has handed over new documents proving one of its nuclear scientists was abducted by the US, Tehran says.

The evidence, the contents of which have not been disclosed, has reportedly been given to the Swiss embassy, which represents US interests in Iran.

Shahram Amiri, who disappeared during a pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia a year ago, is believed to be in the United States.

Three videos purportedly of him emerged recently containing contradictory information as to his whereabouts.

Not wanting to miss the forest for the trees, it seems what's most important here is that the Americans now know whatever this fellow knows about Iran's nuclear program. Whether that reassures or drives them toward an attack on those facilities or on Iran generally depends on what they found out.

Point is that the recent news is that the USA is not denying that the Sharam Amiri videos are authentic:

Quote:
A U.S. official tried today to quickly rebuke Amiri's claims.

"The guy's ability to make and release messages is clear proof that he hasn't been held in the United States against his will, says that theory's absurd. That's not the way it works-we don't have to compel people to defect. Maybe he's just trying to build a story for the folks back home. The fact that he can say what he wants doesn't make his statements true. He's shown to the world that he has the power to make choices-even bad ones."

So, it is not "Iran" (who would believe them -- known liars of the evil other) but Amiri himself that is making these claims, as acknowledged by the US government official quoted in the ABC report here: Iranian Defector: I've Escaped from CIA.

There is no dispute about the authenticty of the videos, or the claims being made by Amiri. This is not an example of agitation and propaganda cooked up by some crazy fanatic religious theologians, sorry to say for you. But why bother with these little details, when you are obviously having so much fun ridiculing Iranians?

The Risk of a Nuclear War with Iran. What would Einstein say?  Assassination of scientists transformed into official policy

Quote:
Four weeks before the end of 2010, an AFP agency dispatch informed:

“An Iranian nuclear scientist has been killed.
“Teheran accuses the United States and Israel of being behind a double assassination.“AFP. November 30, 2010

“‘The hand of western governments and the Zionist regime is behind the assassination attempts’. Mahmud Ahmadineyad had no doubts when it came to look for the people guilty of the double attack on the nuclear experts that took place early yesterday in Teheran. Majid Shariari, professor at the Shahid Beheshti University of Teheran and member of the Nuclear Society of Iran lost his life and his wife was injured in an explosion reported a few metres from their home. His colleague Fereydoon Abbasi, a laser physicist at the same university and his wife were also injured after a similar attack. Even though some newspapers announced Abbasi’s death, it was finally the Mehr agency that confirmed that he had managed to save his life. According to the Fars agency, ‘unknown terrorists’ on motorcycles drove closet o the vehicles to plant the lapa bombs.”

“Members of the Ahmadineyad Executive and the Minister of the Interior, Mostafa Mohamad Najjar, directly accused the CIA and Mossad – the intelligence services of the US and Israel, respectively – of being behind these actions that presume a new blow for the country’s nuclear race at the doors of a possible new round of talks with the 5+1 members...”

“With yesterday’s attempt there are now three Iranian scientists who have been killed since 2007. Dr. Masoud Alí Mohamadi lost his life in Teheran last January after the explosion of a bomb as he was leaving his home, a death that has not yet been cleared up by the authorities who also accused the western intelligence agencies of trying to abort what they considered to be a right, the nuclear race for civilian purposes. The first victim in the heart of the scientific community was Ardeshir Hosseinpour, killed under strange circumstances in 2007 at the nuclear centre of Isfahan.”

Their own corrupt stooges sell nuclear weapons secrets to highest bidders in Central Asia, and yet they claim to be worried about a proliferation of nuclear weapons.  US hypocrisy never ends.
