Merkel To Sway China Against Iran

http://www.presstv.ir/detail/224177.html

"German Chancellor Angela Merkel has arranged a visit to China to convince the country to reduce Iranian oil imports.."

no doubt our own water-boy PM tried the same when he was recently there...

Quote:
"Tehran says its nuclear activities are simply for electricity generation."
Electrical generation requires only about 3 to 7 % pure refined uranium for most common commercial reactors... nuclear weapons requires refinement over 20% pure.

It should be as simple as showing the inspectors how refined their uranium is to put an end to this madness.

Low-enriched uranium (LEU) has a lower than 20% concentration of 235U. For use in commercial light water reactors (LWR), the most prevalent power reactors in the world, uranium is enriched to 3 to 5% 235U. Fresh LEU used in research reactors is usually enriched 12% to 19.75% U-235, the latter concentration being used to replace HEU fuels when converting to LEU.

Highly enriched uranium (HEU) has a greater than 20% concentration of 235U or 233U. The fissile uranium in nuclear weapons usually contains 85% or more of 235U known as weapon(s)-grade, though for a crude, inefficient weapon 20% is sufficient (called weapon(s)-usable); some argue that even less is sufficient, but then the critical mass for unmoderated fast neutrons rapidly increases, approaching infinity at 6%235U. For critical experiments, enrichment of uranium to over 97% has been accomplished.

As you can see there's a big difference between commercial grade and weapons grade refined uranium... How hard is it to prove which kind you have to an inspector?

IAEA Fails to Visit Iran Nuclear Sites, But Talks 'Constructive' (and vid)

http://rt.com/news/iran-iaea-talks-un-223/

"...Former CIA analyst Ray McGovern says people have been misled into thinking Iran is a clear and present danger. 'If you look at the polls, 70 percent of American people believe that Iran already has a nuclear weapon. That is exactly the same percentage of people in 2002 who were persuaded by what I call a phony corporate media to believe that Saddam Hussein 'was working on a nuclear weapon,' he said.

If the Iranians were working on a nuclear weapon, they would have to kick out the UN inspectors. We would know that and they do not want that at all. They are not working on a nuclear weapon. They have not yet decided to do so.."

It's not rocket science.

Either the UN inspectors will be allowed access to what they need or they will not, and Iran will decide about that, but if they block the UN inspectors they will end up being found guilty in the court of public opinion.

Israel Sets Up Elite Command Unit to Strike Behind 'Enemy Lines'

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/israel-sets-up-elite...

"Israel has set up a specialist commando unit designed to carry out missions deep inside enemy territory amid growing consensus in government circles that military strikes must be contemplated if economic sanctions do not halt Iran's nuclear programme.

Israeli officials say that any military action must take place by the end of summer to prevent Iran moving more of its nuclear capabilities underground.."

what's strange (but not surprising) is that Iran is held to a higher standard of inspections and constant monitoring of their nuclear work than ANY of the countries that actually already showed they are going to build, test and/or use nuclear arms.  Pretty obvious this whole thing is not about nuclear arms, in fact our policies ENCOURAGE iran to seek a defensive nuclear capability to deal with our constant threats and terrorism.

in fact, wasn't there a deal with the EU prior to 9-11 where Iran had actually stopped enriching in exchange for security from the US/Israel?  it was us that broke the ageement when bush threatened iran with the whole regime change axis of evil stuff.

Also notice how the media puts any anti iran piece front and center, but when they're allowing new inspectors and negotiating it's buried so the public, who is already misinformed, only hears the BS stuff like "they're one year away from the bomb" and they want another holocaust, etc. it's so obvious it's pathetic.

Agreed and one would also think that "tactic" could simply be averted and countered by (Iran) showing they are not enriching uranium past 20%... you can't build nuks with industrial grade uranium.

Are you talking about courtiers that already have nuclear weapons or one's that don't and are trying to get them? It's a little late to inspect nations that aready have them don't you think?

Wow, this is sounding quite serious.

Israel defence minister warns it may soon be too late for Iran military strike

Ehud Barak says Tehran's nuclear programme is slowly reaching 'immunity stage' when no armed intervention could stop it

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/feb/02/iran-israel-ehud-barak-strik...

"Dealing with a nuclearised Iran will be far more complex, far more dangerous and far more costly in blood and money than stopping it today. In other words, those who say 'later' may find that later is too late," Barak said.

Sanctions recently authorised by the international community were "a step in the right direction", he said. But they needed to be intensified and "if sanctions do not achieve the desired effect of stopping the military nuclearisation programme, action must also be considered".

Speculation that Israel is actively considering a strike on Iran's nuclear installations has intensified in recent months. Barak's comments came as the US defence secretary Leon Panetta declined to deny a column in the Washington Post suggesting that he believes Israel would launch a military strike in April, May or June this year.

"No, I'm just not commenting," Panetta said in response to questions about the article by David Ignatius. Washington had indicated its concerns about a military action by Israel, he added.

The US says that sanctions must be given time to work. But some in Israel believe that in the months needed for stiffer sanctions to have the necessary impact, Iran could reach a "zone of immunity".

Barak said the issues had been and continued to be debated "with directness and frankness that has not always characterised the discourse in the past". He said that in his decades of experience, no subject of national defence had been discussed "for so many hours with the participation of all the parties that need to be involved".

But, he added, there was "no guarantee that we can remove all the disagreements among us", indicating that a consensus on whether to attack may not be reached. His comments, prefaced by a list of historical decisions by the state of Israel to embark on military action, appeared to refer to an internal rather than international consensus, but it was not made clear.

Do I hear a big Belgeamurrican crow caw caw cawing? - Hou je fokking bek!YellCool

Perhaps it's worth recalling that the last time access and information was granted to IAEA, it was used to whack Iranian scientists. IAEA is hardly a disinterested party so perhaps one can appreciate Iranian reservations about letting their CIA-Mossad enemy range around Iran as they please. In any case there is a process underway, such as it is, and thus far Iran has been found to be in full compliance with international law. Nonetheless the warmongering and threats continue and escalate.

The problem is of course that there is no international system to restrain the fascist mass murdering hegemon's spree of piracy and systematic destruction of any state it pleases to invade, occupy, despoil and steal oil from. Under these circumstances one can certainly appreciate the appeal of what might be the only effective deterrent against such a monster's attack plans.

I think they mean to have a war. And I think it will make no difference that Iran, unlike Israel, or America, has no nukes.

Unfortunately...

So I guess what the Israelis and CIA are trying to tell the world is that they do not now nor have they ever laid hands on or so much as eyeballed any actual physical, tangible proof that Iran is making nuclear weapons.

Why can't they just spit it out instead of stammering and stuttering all the time?

Airstrikes won't stop Iran from building a nuclear weapon... if anything it would justify their excuse.

As for the rest about inspectors and such I can't find one article on Iran showing its refined uranium is below 20% nor can I find anything where the inspectors have seen refined uranium, period. I don't know; it might be because the articles are so poorly written or something. All you get is "Iran says it's program is for power not weapons" and "we aren't allowed in this site".

Israel Ramps Up Push for Attack on Iran
Officials claim Iran has missiles that could strike US
by John Glaser, February 02, 2012

Israeli officials have apparently been engaged in an aggressive public relations offensive to broaden support for a military attack on Iran, with particular emphasis on American audiences.

Israel’s strategy conference this week in Herzliya, a Tel Aviv suburb, has featured highly publicized speeches by many Israeli officials. Specifically, they have claimed that Iran currently possesses long range missiles that could reach the United States and enough the material to build four nuclear weapons....

LOL... I see this shits never going to stop. Iran does not have a missile that can hit the USA. Not even fucking close.

Building a nuclear device that can explode is one thing... easy as a matter of fact when compared to putting it on an ICBM that can hit a target on the other side of the planet. That is a whole new ball of wax. They'd do better FedExing it to the target.

No need to "LOL".

Propagamda creates it's own "reality" with real consequences.   This is Iraq all over again. It doesn't matter that Iraq had no WMD's or that the weapons inspectors and objective people knew this was the reality.

The media, which worked ceaslessly, successfully brought the  masses into a fearful state of endorsing  "pre-emptive" war.

Assured Mutual Destruction.  Iran knows that launching a nuclear attack would mean the complete obliteration of every square inch of the country, and the extinction of it's people.  There's really nothing to worry about.  All this fuss is just making them more pissed off than they already are.  The gov'ts play it up because they want to keep us in a state of fear, so we don't realize how much they're screwing us themselves.

There's always a new threat to you!   H1N1, BPA, Iraq, Global Warming.

Iran is just the next boogeyman, and so long as you're focussed on that, they can get away with whatever alternate agenda they have.

@bec  All of Irans uranium is under watch by the IAEA, the second any of it was diverted for any purpose other than civilian power we'd know.  No one, not even the US or Israel has made the accusation that Iran is enriching past 20% or has a secret stash somewhere.

my point about Iran being held to a higher standard than other nations (i'm referring to countries that already have nuclear weapons such as US, Israel, India, North Korea, Pakistan, etc.) is more that these countries are in the process of "modernizing" and building new nuclear weapons as well as maintaing huge stockpiles of them, some have refused to even sign the NPT or allow IAEA inspections, they threaten to use their nukes on others and in some cases already have and they are also countries that are constantly attacking others as well as carrying out terrorist acts all over the world.

you'd think inspectors would be demanding to get into those countries and secure their nuke materials and make sure they're not building new arms.  instead the focus is on a country that even the US/Israels top intelligence and military people admit does not currently have a nuclear weapons program.  Instead the US vetoes attempts (including by Iran) to have the middle east become a declared nuke free zone, lest it not be able to deploy nuclear armed warships to the middle east or keep it's stash in north africa...

also, the fact that any concern over north koreas nukes has all but disappeared, even though we know they actually have a weapons program, have tested a weapon and have major tensions with the south including attacking them a few times in the past few years tells me this issue really isn't about concern over Iran's nuclear program as much as an attempt to stop Iran from becoming more influential in a region that the US wants to control... let's not forget the US's sordid history against Iran overthrowing the government, supporting dictators, stifling democracy, commiting and funding terrorism in Iran etc.

Israeli Adventurism Worries Britain

http://www.presstv.ir/detail/224725.html

"Britain's Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has voiced concerns about the Israeli regime's adventurism as far as the dispute over Iran's civilian nuclear program is concerned. Clegg has told The House Magazine, a weekly British political journal, that he feared Israel could carry out a pre-emptive strike on Iran...

the deputy prime minister failed to even name the Israeli regime's war rhetoric against the Islamic Republic. It also came when the Israeli regime has avoided international pressure to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and blocked inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to investigate its wholly mysterious nuclear weapons program...

An Israeli government minister said Thursday that Iran is developing an missile that could strike targets more than 6,000 miles away and thus would be capable of hitting the East Coast of the US..."

Don't believe this USRAELI variation of the good cop/bad cop gambit re an Iran attack. As was recounted in a piece I posted on these lists some weeks ago, by a high-level state department insider, this kind of tag-team US vs Israel tag-team ploy is aptly referred to as 'Hold Me Back'...

'US Tries to Provoke Iran into War' (and vid)

http://www.presstv.ir/detail/224509.html

"...I think the idea is very clear and I think every middle school student in south Tehran understands that this project is to provoke, provoke, provoke Iran. President Obama's Executive Order allowed 40 million dollars for so-called groups inside Iran...

Now that is not aimed at bringing down the regime - which they want to do. Nor are the assassinations aimed at that. What they are aimed at is to provoke. [They] 'We need a false flag, some kind of operation [to provoke] reaction by the Iranians...

and that will give us an excuse to attack and it will give Israel an excuse. So I think the pressure is clear..."

Iran's Scientific Achievements Threaten US Hegemony (and vid)

http://www.presstv.ir/detail/224712.html

"...I should further point out that the journalist Andrea Mitchell on NBC described what I mentioned before about Clapper's report of a presumptive plan for a strike on the US by Iran. (Talk about turning things on their head) And she asked the question: If the threshold for a preemptive nuclear strike on Iran by Israel has now been reached?

This is an index of the climate that's been generated here; a hysterical climate; an aggressive climate; a menacing climate; against the people of Iran and against the peoples of the world...by a reckless imperial predator, which is what the US ruling class is in the world today.

Having said that, Iran has to be defended. Whether there is difference with Iran on this or that question - is utterly beside the point. Iran must be defended; the people of the region must be defended and these war games of the US and Israel must be soundly obstructed and defeated..."

"Prime Minister Stephen Harper insisted he is not preparing the Canadian public for war with Iran but, in his sternest warning yet, he said he fears the regime in Tehran is preparing to use nuclear weapons, if it manages to produce them...

'For the first time in history, we are facing a regime that not only wants to attain nuclear weapons but a regime that has, compared to virtually all other holders of nuclear weapons in the past, far less fear of using them, he said. Pressed  on whether the use of a nuclear device would constitute an act of suicide by Tehran, he responded:  'I'm not sure that would dissuade them...We're dealing with a fanatical and dangerous regime.."

Meanwhile, the man expected to execute a political order for such an airstrike was named on Sunday in an appointment that has been embroiled in controversy for weeks.

Amir Eshel is to take up the post of commander of the Israeli air force in April after his appointment was approved by Barak. The move follows reported differences between Netanyahu and military chief of staff Benny Gantz over who should fill the vacancy.

Eshel is thought to be relatively cautious on the issue of military action against Iran, in tune with Gantz who strongly backed him for the post. But, he told reporters last month: "We have the ability to hit very, very hard any adversary" and warned that a nuclear Iran would lead to proliferation across the Middle East.

Meanwhile, on this depleted uranium, corexit, cesium, Agent Orange and corn syrup mess of an earth, we can look forward to this game on Sunday, where military jets will roar overhead and there will be a huge flag the size of the field itself, with soldiers standing at attention.

During the broadcast, troops stationed overseas will be shown so we can thank them in our hearts for allowing us to watch these simulated wars at home, and when an actual war starts, we can watch that too. I found this translated YouTube video and found it an interesting look into the (Iranian?) Shiite POV of how things are coming about in the world. It seems they, well some of them, think a prophet is coming soon and the current Iranian leadership is in the middle of it. I had heard about this before but had no idea how the mechanicS of this coming was to go about.

PLEASE: View it at your own digression... its, well, religions prophecy (and propaganda of sorts, who's I have no idea). I took it with a grain of salt but I still found it a rather interesting video as I had no idea about the details of this prophecy of theirs and there's no doubt it has some impact on the events we're talking about here.

I don't care if he's Santa Claus,(sorry it's not PressTV).  I figured your smart enough to figure that out yourself and smart enough to cut through the chaff on stuff like this. Like I said, use your digression when viewing...

What are you afraid of? The CIA is going to grab hold of your mind?...LOL Did you watch the video? Did you know about the prophecy of the twelfth Imam? I'd heard of it but had no idea what it was about and I bet many here don't/didn't niether.

@bec. While there are many more comprehensive references on the history of Islam, including the explanation of various prophesies, the first one I read was called "Islam, a short history" by Karen Armstrong. It's an easy read and gave me some background that made more intense readings easier to understand later on. I often get criticized for suggesting reading references, so I'm doing this at my own peril.

Thanks, A Shiite family runs a convince store down the street from my house. I'm in there every morning buying coffee and I get along with the oldest son. I'm going to ask him about this tomorrow morning.

Obama Orders Global US Iran Asset Block

http://rt.com/news/us-block-iran-assets-619/

"US President Barack Obama has signed an executive order to freeze all Iranian government assets held in America and US banks abroad. Obama claimed Iranian financial activities are posing 'continuing and unacceptable risk' to the international financial system."

ROTFL! - just imagine this greasy goldman-sachs water-boy who nearly blew up the whole world with their outrageous filthy frauds and financial grand larcenies, stealing Iran's money, just as they did Libya's on the grounds that selling oil for real money instead of worthless yankee fuck-bucks, is posing 'unacceptable risk'. What a pirate. These Americans kill me...

Finally...

Quote:

Iran two years ago started refining uranium to a fissile concentration of 20 percent at Natanz - far more than the 3.5 percent level usually required to power nuclear energy plants.

Tehran says it will use 20 percent-enriched uranium to convert into fuel for a research reactor making isotopes to treat cancer patients, but Western officials say they doubt that the country has the technical capability to do that.

In addition, they say, Fordow's capacity - a maximum of 3,000 centrifuges - is too small to produce the fuel needed for nuclear power plants, but ideal for yielding smaller amounts of high-enriched product typical of a nuclear weapons programme.

Nuclear bombs require uranium enriched to 90 percent, but Western experts say much of the effort required to get there is already achieved once it reaches 20 percent purity, shortening the time needed for any nuclear weapons "break-out".

They give different estimates of how quickly Iran could assemble a nuclear weapon - ranging from as little as six months to a year or more.

Western officials believe Iran has not yet decided whether it will indeed "weaponise" enrichment, but rather is seeking now solely to establish the industrial and scientific capacity to do so if needed for military and security contingencies.

So everything beyond 20% is based on speculation and suspicion because they are moving their stuff underground. I knew this was BS.

'Iran Poses No'Existential Threat' to Israel - Ex Mossad Chief (and vid)

http://rt.com/news/iran-israel-nuclear-threat-557/

"Israel and Iran have no other conflict aside from the latter's nuclear ambitions, former Mossad chief Efraim Halevy told RT in an interview. 'Iran and Israel basically do not have bones of contention.' Halevy argues that talk of Iran posing an 'existential threat' to Israel is merely Tel Aviv  using big words to impress the international community.

'I think Israel's strong enough to protect itself, to take care of itself. I think ultimately it is not in the power of Iran to destroy the state of Israel,' he said. 'I believe the leadership believes that in order to arouse international public opinion, in order to mount pressure on the Iranians, it is necessary to impress upon the world at large that this is a serious international threat."

Well according to what I was told this morning the prophecy is alive and well. The Sunni and Shiites, Iranians included, also believe the 12th Imam will come from Medina in Saudi Arabia. Most believe you will not know when that is going to happen kind of like most Christians can't tell you when JC is going to show up. What is happening now is the Iranian regime is claiming they know; he is alive in Medina and giving Iran secret orders till his appears to the world in the near future. They are also claiming his lieutenants and generals are going to be chosen from the current Iranian leadership.

That is the "gobbledygook", as you call it, Glen Beck and others are repeating; they are not making it up, the Iranians are. The store owner whom I talked withs' family came from Lebanon (they are Shite). He does not believe the Iranian claim and considers it nonsense. He said the sad thing is Iran is promoting this belief in not only Iran but in other places like Lebanon and Gaza where allot of people are desperate to believe in anything that would give them hope, no thanks to Israel and in part the USA.

It was a good conversation; my coffee was free this morning :-)

Don't want to de-rail too much so this is my last post on this...

"And so, it must be said: Danger, Israeli attack ahead (possibly). And yes, we should fear it, with every fibre of our being. All Israeli wars since 1973 were flawed wars of choice. Israel initiated all of them. And so we have entered the time of fear. The time has come to admit it, even to encourage it. For far too long now Israel has been headed by heroes, the kind who don't hesitate to take the country into yet another purposeless adventure. We must tell them now, loudly:

"Last week, Prime Minister Harper made a frightening claim about Iran.

'US Military Forces Around Iran Portend Imminent Attack'

http://www.presstv.ir/detail/225836.html

"A former US official says Washington is deploying military forces around Iran and calling off its wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to prepare for a strike on Iran. He also added that even the recent US warnings to Israel, reportedly issued by its Joint Chief of Staff, General Martin Dempsey on January 20, not to launch an assault on Iran without Washington's prior consent, smacks of hypocrisy.

'A different way to read Dempsey's warning is that Obama wants to hold off on attacking Iran until polls show him losing the presidential election. It has generally been the case that the patriotic electorate does not turn out a president who is at war,' the former US official said.

Craig Roberts, said US President Barack Obama seeks to appease 'both the Israel Lobby and Democratic peace groups, thus upping his vote' by simultaneously announcing that Washington is 'in lockstep' with Israel and calling for a 'diplomatic solution' to Iran's nuclear issue.."

'Talks Are the Only Solution to Iran Nuclear Issue'

He said that China was ready to work with parties concerned to seek an early resumption of talks between the P5 + 1 -- Britain, China, France, Russia and the US plus Germany - and Iran.

He said that Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Ma Zhaouxo will visit Iran on February 12 and 13 to exchange views on the issue."

Oh really? Well that shows what PressTV really knows... jackshit. Iran thinks too much of its self... Seriously, Iran is an afterthought to most Americans. Attacking Iran and tanking the economy over it will not get Obama re-elected; the threat of a Republican president will though.

A quote from planted disinformation--also from the rt story:

Quote:
Seyed Mohammad Marandi from the University of Tehran, speaking to RT regarding the troops, dismissed the news as “basically Western propaganda” and attributed the claims to erroneous information received by the Chinese media.

“Iran has no troops in the country. Iran has never had troops involved in the problems within Syria.”

“Someone in the Chinese media has been receiving information that is completely false,” said Marandi.

But the US-Israel drumbeat to war, is reaching pre-Iraqi war hysteria levels,  where the "forces of decency must act"( to commit further war crimes of aggression) .

AIPAC To Obama: Attack Iran Or Let Israel Do It

http://www.presstv.ir/detail/226156.html

"The most powerful Zionist lobby group in the US, AIPAC is increasing pressure upon the administration of Barack Obama to launch a military strike against Iran, a political writer says. 'It is clear that Israel and its neoconservative camp followers here in the United States are increasing pressure on President Obama to either attack Iran or let Israel do it,'  MJ Rosenberg said.

The author said the main reason behind his prediction is that 'this is an election year and no one will say no to Benjamin Netanyahu in an election year.' Rosenberg also pointed to an upcoming meeting of the America Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). 'War enthusiasm will rise to a fever pitch by March, when AIPAC holds its annucal policy conference,' he wrote..."

Why Israel Might Believe Attacking Iran Is Worthwhile

http://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2012/02/why-israel-migh...

A barely perceptible but hugely important shift has occurred in recent months. Israel now appears to believe that the benefits of attacking Tehran's nuclear sites outweigh the costs. As Iran builds an enrichment complex underground near the city of Qom, the timing has also become critical. All of which may mean that, as Defense Secretary Leon Panetta reportedly told a Washington Post columnist, Israel will probably strike Iran in April, May, or June. (Panetta wasn't quoted directly, and a Pentagon spokesman tellsNational Journal that the secretary has "refused to comment" on the story.)

Western powers had thought that a preemptive strike on oil-rich Iran could have devastating implications for the region and the world. It could undermine the global economy (especially at a time of high oil prices) and peace in the Middle East. It could rain rocket fire on Israeli towns and possibly shift global power balances. But now, some American and Israeli experts--both inside and outside their governments--argue that Iran is less likely to retaliate in a serious way. An attack, in other words, may have fewer drawbacks than the skeptics first thought.

Iran Escalation: All the Elements for War Are Coming Together

http://antifascist-calling.blogspot.com/2012/02/iran-escalation-all-elem...

"With all the bluster of late in Western media that President Obama is assiduously working to 'restrain' Israel from launching a preemptive attack on Iran, recent developments should put paid  the lies of this dog and pony show...

According to the White House, Obama took the additional step towards cratering Iran's economy and cited 'deceptive practices' of the Iranian central bank in hiding transactions  of sanctioned parties and its failure to prevent money laundering, concluding that Iran's activities pose an 'unacceptable risk' to the international financial system..."

It is interesting that one of the few remaining 'independent' central banks is apparently being targeted, as was Libya's - an additional sugarplum for Obama's international bankster buddies?

Although the Steve Clemons  article (you posted at #81) provides some balance on Iran (at least in monetary costs to the US), more typical is the above Atlantic "nuanced analysis" which speciously serves to hype the inevitability and the reasonable justifiability of an attack on Iran.

This is not new  territory for The Atlantic whose star columnist, Jeffrey Goldberg, served as an Israel Defense Forces prison guard:

Quote:
The latest in this crescendo of voices is Jeffrey Goldberg’s article in the Atlantic, “Point of No Return.” As the title suggests, it essentially makes the case (though in an uncharacteristically subtle manner by neoconservative standards) that there are no choices left — war is a fait accompli, and the only question is whether it will be initiated by Israel or by the United States....

Israel Blames Iran for Bombs

http://rt.com/news/netanyahu-iran-bombings-india-georgia-183/

"The Israeli prime minister has accused Iran of being behind car bombings in India and Georgia. Explosive devices were attached to cars belonging to the Israeli embassies in Tbilsi and New Delhi. Prime Minister Netanyahu labeled Iran 'the world's top initiator of terror' claiming the bombs are not the first attack against Israeli citizens coming from Iran.

Iranian officials deny the accusations coming from Israel. 'We categorically reject the accusations. They are part of a propaganda war,' said Ramin Mehmadanparast.' 'Iran condemns all acts of terrorism' he said.

'I'd be surprised if Israel didn't hit back for this. And that could cause another further escalation, and getting this chain-reaction moving a little faster until we end up with a war,' says journalist Larry Derfner."

It's Time For A Reality Check on Harper's Tough Talk about Iran  -  by Scott Taylor

http://thechronicleherald.ca/opinion/62178-it-s-time-reality-check-harpe...

"Readers old enough to remember the Looney Tunes cartoon series may recall episodes based on Chester and Spike. Chester was a bouncing terrier puppy eager to prove this mettle to Spike, the big, tough bulldog. In recent weeks, tough-talking Prime Minister Stephen Harper has been chirping like Chester to encourage Spike (a.k.a. the US) into a full-out scrap with both Syria and Iran...

In other words, Harper is spoiling for a fight. Going one step further in the case of Iran, Harper is embarked on a one-man fear mongering campaign to paint the Persian Peril as an imminent threat to world safety..."

Iranian bomber maimed in blasts in Thai capitalL

Quote:
An Iranian man was seriously wounded in Bangkok Tuesday when a bomb he was carrying exploded and blew one of his legs off, police and government officials said, but they declined to speculate on whether he was involved with any militant group. Shortly before, there had been an explosion in a house the man was renting in the Ekamai area of central Bangkok, and shortly afterwards, another blast on a nearby road.
Love to see what PressTV says about this.

U.S. media takes the lead on Iran

Tuesday, Feb 14, 2012
By Glenn Greenwald in Salon

....
As this blogger correctly observed:

Quote:
What I like about the latest Iranian hijinks is that everyone is so forthright about the fact that any increase in Iranian bellicosity–ahem, “real or perceived”–is the direct result of American sword-rattling. There’s not even a stutter in the direction of circumlocution. It’s all straight up: “Senator, we are concerned that the Iranians may respond if we go to war with them.” It may necessitate a war!

The propaganda at play here is intense indeed. For several years, the U.S. and Israel threaten on an almost daily basis to aggressively attack a country, all while engaging in multiple acts of war against them, and then when their leaders suggest they may not acquiesce to such an attack with passivity and gratitude, those vows of defensive retaliation are used to depict them as the threat-issuing aggressors. And the American media, as always, eagerly implants the propaganda. Thus, if such a war breaks out, NBC News‘ Mik announces, “the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet would be the world’s first line of defense,” though those crazed Persian leaders have threatened to use “Iran’s massive stockpile of ballistic missiles” and to “launch those missiles at U.S. targets.”

Mossad Guages US Reaction to Iran Strike

http://www.smh.com.au/world/mossad-guages-us-reaction-to-war-strike-2012...

"The head of Israel's foreign intelligence service made a secret trip to Washington this month to guage the likely reaction to a unilaterial Israeli strike on Israel's nuclear facilities. The content of Mossad chief Tamir  Pardo's discussions with his American counterparts has been revealed in a Newsweek article titled 'Obama's dangerous Game with Iran.'

Unnamed US officials claim that Mr Pardo's line of questioning to David Petraeus, the CIA chief, ran: 'What is our [US] posture on Iran? Are we ready to bomb? Would we [do so later]? What does it mean if [Israel] does it anyway?'

When asked if Israel intended to strike, James Clapper, the director of US national intelligence, said he would prefer to answer the question behind closed doors..."

ANOTHER PRETEXT TO WAGE WAR? The Fingerprints of False Flags Against Iran. The Thailand, India, Georgia Terrorist Bomb Blasts by Finian Cunninham

Quote:
But this method of assassination has been used previously with devastating effect in the murder of four Iranian nuclear scientists in separate attacks. The latest Iranian victim of assassination was 32-year-old Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan who was killed when motorcycle assailants planted a sticky bomb on his car in Tehran last month. The Iranian government has claimed with credible reasoning that the assassination campaign against its scientists is the work of American and Israeli intelligence. The American and Israeli use of Iranian nationals as proxy agents to execute such a campaign is a proven modus operandi.

Iran has strongly denied any involvement in the latest terror incidents in India, Georgia and Thailand, as well as the alleged bomb plot against the Saudi diplomat in Washington. There is plausible credibility in Iran's denials. What would Iran gain from such action, only grief and trouble?

Who uses sticky bombs? Apparently it's an established m.o. for Gladio terrorists murdering Iranian scientists.

I think it's funny how India and Thailand became major trading partners with Tehran in recent years.

And we are lead to believe that the Iranians would want to jeopardize those trade relations by perpetrating terrorist attacks against Indian and Thai nationals.

It's funny-strange in a Gladio kind of way.

Some people are easily misled apparently. They don't have to fool everyone, mind you. Just the gullible will do.

Cui bono? Who benefits? Whose powers and policies are enhanced by the attack?

Right, so there's no chance Iran AND the Israelis are blowing each other's people up? Instead of something as simple as that you have to (always) settle for some twisting plot formulated in the deep bowels of CIA headquarters... EVERY TIME, 100% sure as fire is hot.

I wonder why that is?
