A single democracy.....Israelis and Palestinians united in one country sounds an ideal solution - what stands in the way? Kill all the Jews doesnt sound very democratic.

We agree. As for what stands in the way I already told you. Apartheid. If this answer doesn't satisfy you suggest you start reading the other posts here, other multiple threads or go googling for more. Here's something to start you off:

Under Israeli law, and in practice, Jewish Israelis and Palestinians are treated differently in almost every aspect of life......

How are Arab Israeli citizens (21% of Israelis) treated? This site speaks of  "Jewish Israelis and Palestinians" without any mention of Arab Israelis.

I guess because most "Arab" Israelis are Palestinian. Here is how non-Jewish Israeli citizens are treated.  Israel has earned its moniker as an apartheid state. One law for people of a particular religion and no rights to speak of for all other citizens.

Between 750 and 1,000 Palestinian citizens of Israel who live in Umm al-Hiran, a village in Israel’s southern Negev desert, face removal. Israel relocated the villagers there under a 1956 agreement permitting them to live there in exchange for them dropping claims to land from which they say Israeli forces expelled them in 1948. Israeli authorities have refused to recognize the village, to supply basic services like water or electricity, or to develop a zoning plan to allow residents to obtain building permits. In 2009, Israeli authorities approved plans to use the land to build a Jewish community.

On August 1, the Palestinian Bedouin village of Al-Araqeeb was destroyed for the 116th time. As soon as Israeli bulldozers finished their ugly deed and soldiers began evacuating the premises, the village resident immediately began rebuilding their homes.

Twenty-two families, or about 101 residents, are estimated to live here. By now, they are all familiar with the painful routine, considering the first round of destruction took place in July 2010.

It means that the village has been destroyed nearly 17 times per year, since then. And every single time, it was rebuilt, only to be destroyed again.

If the repeated destruction of the village is an indication of Israel’s stubborn insistence to uproot Palestine’s Bedouins, the rebuilding is indicative of the tenacity of the Bedouin community in Palestine.

srael dubs Al-Araqeeb, along with 35 villages in the Negev, as ‘unrecognized’ by the Israeli government’s master plan, thus they must be erased, and their population driven into townships made for the Bedouins.

However, these villages are older than Israel itself, and any such ‘master plan’ could have easily considered this existing reality. However, what Israeli truly labors to achieve is to replace the Bedouins with its own Jewish population, as it has tirelessly done for seven decades.

The future of the peace plan which is better known as 2 state solution is no longer viable.  The land the is question has turned eqvilant to swiss cheese with cantions being the left for the Palestine people.  The only solution is new 1 state solution now, with Palestine people living in harmony with the Isreali population in one combined state.  Since
Palestine people have no rights as occupied populace in their own land. The best option is like an apartheid-like struggle get common citizenship to Israeli and Palestine population.  Gaza should part of the 1 state solution, Hamas has no room Jews or Christians. So there is no room for Hamas at the political table in the new multicultural state.

The combined political right is a playing a dangerous game which Hamas which is undermining the hope for the 1 state solution that includes all religions and faiths.

Opposition head Tzipi Livni, from the Zionist Union party, accused the government of “moving from a stated policy of defeating Hamas — which has failed — to a hidden policy of preserving its rule.”

“The government is choosing the worst option because it is the least politically risky,” she said during a speech at a legal convention in the southern Israeli city of Eilat, as quoted in Hebrew media reports. “Israel is conducting indirect negotiations with Hamas [for calm] instead of conducting direct talks with the Palestinian Authority [led by Mahmoud Abbas].”

It has come to the point where the whole matter needs to be internationalized and removed from Israeli hands entirely. Clearly the Zionist Apartheid state is a malignant, malevolent force  bent on the complete destruction of the Palestinians and any viable political future for them within the boundaries of their illegally occupied homelands or within the Israeli settler state itself.

Don't Walk With Apartheid! For A Total Boycott of Israel!

You can't really compare Israel to South Africa.  The South African European (white) minority were Dutch Boers with some religious connection to the land and largely British origin people.

Jewish Israelis are in the only Jewish majority country today.  European Christian states all had Christian majorities and Jewish minorities. With a one-state solution, Jewish Israelis would again be a minority.  If only they could realize that and welcome a Palestinian state as proposed by the UN in 1948.

Many Palestinians  still prefer the one-state solution where they would be the majority in a greater Israel/Palestine.

Why can’t Gaza accept its borders, make peace with neighbour Israel and become a dynamic small state, UN member, like Qatar ?

Perhaps the terms on offer, if there are any, are unacceptable. I am of the opinion that all will ultimately be forced to accept the inevitability of a 0ne state solution.

'Take to the Streets! Gaza is under Attack!' - PFLP

from SouthFront

The Gaza Strip is on the brink of a large-scale Israeli military intervention.

The current round of escalation started on November 11 when a covert unit of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) opened fire at a patrol of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the Hamas military wing, in the town of Khan Yunis inside the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) supported the retreating IDF unit by airstrikes. At least 7 Palestinians, including Nur Barake, a deputy commander of an elite unit of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, and a lieutenant colonel of the IDF were killed in the clashes. Another IDF service member was injured.

In response to the raid, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades launched at least 17 projectiles at Israeli targets east of Gaza. 3 of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome. The IDF described the Palestinian retaliation as an act of the terror and claimed that its covert operation in Gaza was not aimed at killing or abducting anybody, but “to strengthen Israeli security”.

The incident triggered a mass hysteria within Israeli media and political leadership, with multiple reports and statements calling for a wider military action against Hamas. Over the past few weeks, the IDF has concentrated a notable ground force, including battle tanks and other military equipment, near the Gaza contact line amid similar statements from top Israeli officials calling for an invasion in Gaza.

In the evening, of November 12, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades kicked off a new round of rocket strikes on Israeli targets by launching at least 80 projectiles. The IDF responded by a massive airstrike on the Gaza Strip. In the framework of this effort, the IDF intentionally destroyed the building of the Al-Aqsa TV network to undermine the Palestinian media capabilities in the conflict.

By November 13 morning, Palestinian armed groups have launched over 370 rockets at different targets across Israel, including some on the coast of the Dead Sea. They avoided to strike the most populated areas in central Israel, but warned that if the IDF continues its actions they can do this. Additionally, a unit of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades also targeted an IDF bus with anti-tank guided missile.

According to the IDF, about 100 of 370 rockets were intercepted. Meanwhile, the IDF has continued its massive strikes on Gaza claiming that up to 100 military targets have been destroyed so far.

The IDF is actively deploying additional troops and battle tanks near Gaza and if the situation continues to escalate the ground operation may be launched in the nearest future.

Breaking News: Israel Sabotages Ceasefire Talks, Assassinating Hmas Commander, IDF Senior Commander Also Killed

"...Netanyahu seemed to think he was sitting so pretty that he didn't need another military adventure like Operation Protective Edge to seal his electoral success. But now all bets are off. Either Netanyahu wanted this excuse to go to war, or he didn't expect the raid or its failure, but could exploit it to commence hostilities. In 2014, 95% of Israelis supported the war. If there is a new set of hostilities, Netanyahu undoubtedly believes he can ride them to an even greater majority.

Finally, this abortive raid proves once again that Israel's word is worth nothing when it comes to agreements, whether they be peace treaties or ceasefires. It adheres to no principles except naked self interest defined in the crudest of terms. If it has the opportunity to murder a leading military commander it will do so regardless of the resulting consequences, regardless of efforts being pursued by allies like Egypt to advance an Israeli-Hamas ceasefire..."
