President Proclaims 'National Day of Honor' - by David Swanson
"...On the ninth anniversary of US forces moving into Iraq, President Barack Obama has proclaimed today to be 'A National Day of Honor'. There's something about mourning the loss of life while erasing 99.5% of the losses, those of the victims, those of the people whose country we destroyed.
There's something repulsive too about mourning the damage done to the US warriors while simultaneously lying about the war in order to send more such men and women into other equally criminal and senseless wars or what Obama himself used to call dumb wars..'
'..Ironically, Canadian naval vessels, aircraft and personnel...will supply more support to this war indirectly...than most of those 46 countries that are fully supporting our efforts there..It's kind of an odd situation.." Paul Celluci US Ambassador
