U.N. and Red Cross condemn Israeli murder of 30 civilians
Sorry folks, this one needs its own thread.
The United Nations has said it has received reports that about 30 Palestinians were killed when Israeli forces shelled a house after they had moved about 110 civilians inside it.
"According to several testimonies, on 4 January Israeli foot soldiers evacuated approximately 110 Palestinians into a single-residence house in Zeitun, warning them to stay indoors," the UN report said on Friday.
"Twenty-four hours later, Israeli forces shelled the home repeatedly, killing approximately 30."
The incident took place on Monday in the Zeitun neighbourhood of Gaza City on Monday, the report said.
The UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) called it "one of the gravest incidents since the beginning of operations" by Israeli forces in Gaza on December 27. ...
Emergency workers from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Palestinian Red Crescent said they were not able to reach the wounded for four days because Israel would not allow them safe passage.
They said the children were starving when rescuers finally reached them after the "unacceptable" delay. ...
Pierre Wettach, the ICRC chief for Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, said: "The Israeli military must have been aware of the situation but did not assist the wounded."
Do you have the link?
Whose article?
Here's a link to the Al Jazeera story.
Here's Times Online with a pretty succinct lead paragraph.
unfuckingbelievable, and yet the pro_Israelis apologists have the nerve to come here and tout "poor Israel, bad Hamas"!
I am sickened to my core, and I have perhaps never felt this sickened!

Ignatieff: Israel has right to defend itself
By The Canadian Press
Fri. Jan 9 - 4:46 AM
Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff says Israel is justified in taking military action to defend itself against attacks by Hamas from the Gaza Strip.
"Canada has to support the right of a democratic country to defend itself," he told reporters in Halifax on Thursday after speaking to a forum of business leaders on the economy.
"Israel has been attacked from Gaza, not just last year, but for almost 10 years. They evacuated from Gaza so there is no occupation in Gaza.
"Hamas is a terrorist organization and Canada can’t touch Hamas with a 10-foot pole," he said. "Hamas is to blame for organizing and instigating these rocket attacks and then for sheltering among civilian populations."
Ignatieff said Canada must do whatever it can to get humanitarian and medical relief into Gaza when there is a ceasefire, but rocket attacks on Israel by Hamas must stop first."

No such right for Palestinians, apparently.
It's a sick game of who gets to point the finger... and Israel apologists control the media.
I'm now not sure which thread I should add this to but I'm going to gamble on this one. When that UN school was shelled it was claimed that there was gunfire coming from it, i.e. that Hamas was using civilians as shields. Today in Haaretz:
Dozens of Palestinians were killed in the shelling.
Remind you find EVERYTHING 'unfuckingbelieveable!' =)
The UN needs to do more than condem shit.
Is that suposed to make anyone feel better? The UN condeming something?
I bet that really made Israel worry.
Message to Iggy: go crawl back under the rock you emerged from, you worthless piece of shit.
Yes, Israel and it's apologists, hat tip to you OO, always make that claim. Yet, Amnetsy International has accused Israel of using human shields:
"This increases risk to families and means they are effectively being used as human shields," the group said.

Also, a Palestinian captured and abused by Israelis makes the same claim:

As usual, Israel is the demon of which it accuses its enemies.
