US airstrikes on Syrian troops were ‘intentional,’ lasted nearly 1 hour – Assad to AP

RT wrote:
Syrian President Bashar Assad says that US airstrikes which killed 62 Syrian government troops were “intentional” and they lasted for an hour. He added that the US “does not have the will” to join Russia in fighting terrorists in Syria.

Speaking to the Associated Press in Damascus, the Syrian leader denied that the airstrikes carried out by the US near Deir ez-Zor on September 17 were an accident. Sixty-two Syrian soldiers were killed and over 100 were injured, according to the Syrian military. Assad said they were “intentionally” targeted.

It was not an accident by one airplane; it was four airplanes which kept attacking the position of the Syrian troops for nearly one hour or maybe a little bit more than one hour,” Assad told AP, adding they were attacking a large area that “constituted of many hills” adjacent to where the Syrian troops were stationed.

And in regard to Daesh, the terrorists?

Bashar al Assad, democratically elected President of Syria wrote:
The IS troops attacked at the very same time as the American strike. How could they know that America was going to attack that position in order to gather their militants right away and attack it one hour after the strike. It was definitely intentional and not unintentional,” he added.

Assad: “I would say whatever the American officials said about the conflict in Syria has no credibility. Whatever they say is just lies.”

Yup. Stinking, murderous liars, I might add.

U.S. Coalition Intelligence “Operations Room” Inside Syria, Destroyed by Russian Missile Attack: Thirty Israeli, American, British, Turkish, Saudi, Qatari Intelligence Officials Killed, Report

Quote:
The US and its allies  had  established a Field Operations Room in the Aleppo region integrated by intelligence personnel. Until it was targeted by a Russian missile attack on September 20,  this “semi-secret” facility was operated by US, British, Israeli, Turkish, Saudi and Qatari intelligence personnel.

According to Fars News, this intelligence facility was attacked by Russia in the immediate wake of the US Air Strikes against Syrian SAA forces at Deir Ezzor in support of the ISIS-Daesh terrorists. The Russian warships stationed in Syria’s coastal waters targeted and destroyed a foreign military operations room, killing over two dozen Israeli and western intelligence officers”.

According to the article, neither side is interested in publicizing this issue.

Ain't it just amazing how those babblers who just love to shit on Russia have assumed a dead silence on this thread and Syria generally? The US is basically creating the conditions for WW3 (or ww4 - depending how you count) and our US-loving, Russia-hating hosers have nothing to say.

Squat! Nothing! Nada! Zero!

I guess it's pretty hard to defend the Empire on this issue, huh?

from Press TV< Tehran....

The Syrian army has announced the start of a new large-scale military operation in Aleppo aimed at flushing foreign-sponsored Takfiri militants from the eastern flanks of the strategic northwestern city.

The Syrian Command of Military Operations in Aleppo announced on Thursday that the offensive has been mounted, urging civilians to avoid areas where militants are congregated, Syria’s official news agency SANA reported.

It added that government forces had already prepared corridors for those willing to leave eastern Aleppo, and necessary facilities to receive and accommodate civilians had been prepared.

Syria talks

Meanwhile, a high-level international meeting on the Syrian crisis broke up in New York on Thursday after parties could not reach an agreement to resuscitate a collapsed ceasefire in Syria.

US Secretary of State John Kerry said his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov had opposed requests to ground Russian and Syrian fighter jets and stop the bombardment of terrorist positions......

...the ceasefire process is dead! Unless a global civil groundswell to stop...the inevitable march to Russia-US Coalition direct confrontation

If the report above is correct, then the Russian AF has already "returned the favour" to the US side by killing a gaggle of intelligence officers directing (terrorist) traffic in Syria.

This is knife edge stuff and the Western MSM continues to spin events as "Russian bombing of civilians" and "Syrian repression of the freedom-loving population". The lies here are bigger than the lies around Iraq.

Remember Iraq?

The Russians have made more friends in the Arab world with their disinterested [I mean objective] support of the Syrian people than 1,000 conferences, UN Resolutions, and what have you. It's nice to see some decency in international relations, and all is not lost, and the Evil US Empire cannot have its way all the time, despite their overwhelming fire power and instruments of death, and local proxies, and bloated military budgets, and information warfare, and subservient MSM.

In 1938 the Western powers gave up Czech-Slovakia to Hitler, who, along with Poland and Hungary,  dis-membered the country. Today, the Western powers are failing to dis-member Syria, and they are outraged.

Too fucking bad. Choke on your weapons, merchants of death.

I am not a big fan of the reliability of Debka...but the point may be that this intelligence, may be the thinking of the Israeli/USA forces...that any success in eastern Aleppo, may be the preparation for the final assault to clear the Golan Syria side from Israeli/USA supported rebelunits...placing Hezbollah on the Israeli border...and the Israeli strategy to keep its enemies divided engaged in internal disputes...in shatters...

yes we are gearing up for some major confrontations!

Russian-Syrian Aleppo tactics await the SouthDEBKAfile Exclusive Report September 23, 2016, 6:49 PM

In scores of air raids launched early Friday, Sept. 23, Syrian and Russian bombers pulverized Syrian rebel strongholds in eastern Aleppo, while, on the ground, Syrian military, Hizballah and pro-Iranian Shiite militia forces hammered those targets in one of the most destructive onslaughts yet seen in the nearly six-day Syrian civil war.

Cries of “annihilation!” came from rebel commanders, as they came under intense aerial bombardment, combined with a fierce ground assault, backed by heavy Russian T-90 tanks and artillery. Dozens of people including children are trapped in the rubble

This offensive, say DEBKAfile’s military sources, has the twin objective of rooting the rebels out of eastern Aleppo and also driving out the app. 120,000 Sunni Syrian inhabitants penned in shrinking rebel-held neighborhoods, amid dire shortages of food, medicines, water and basic supplies.

The Russian command in Syria and the Syrian General Staff are working to a tactical plan, our sources disclose, that is intended to push the Sunni civilian population as well as the rebels out of the city towards the Turkish border. If this plan plays out - it is still being coordinated with Turkish military and air force chiefs – then the refugees displaced from Aleppo will wind up in a security zone, which the Turkish army is busy carving out, living under Russian-Turkish rule in northern Syria.

DEBKAfile’s intelligence sources add that if this master plan is realized in northern Syria, it will soon be transferred to the south as a template for the Russian-Syrian military tactics in areas abutting Israel.

iyraste1313

As from now, Russia will intensify its diplomatic advantage – the United States have been caught red-handed in treachery. Moscow could therefore use the General Assembly to announce its desire to finish with the jihadists. The US manipulation will turn against those who imagined it. Washington will have only two options left – either engage in an open confrontation, which it does not want, or accept that its protégés lose the game.

Syrian Member of Parliament: ‘Syrian intelligence intercepted audio recording between US and ISIS before airstrike on Deir ez-Zor’

If confirmed, then it will put to rest, finally, the stinking Yanqui lie about it's involvement in Syria.

Quote:
In an interview with the Al Mayadeen broadcaster, the Speaker of the People’s Council of Syria, Hadiya Khalaf Abbas, made a stunning revelation…Syrian intelligence possesses an audio recording of conversation between Daesh (ISIS/ISIL) terrorists and US military prior to the US coalition airstrikes on Syrian government forces near Deir ez-Zor.

An  airstrike that openly aided ISIS in gaining a strategic air base in Syria.

If confirmed, and made public, this would blow the whole US lie about its involvement in Syria out of the water.

It would prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the US is openly communicating and coordinating with ISIS in Syria. It would also show that America’s attack on Syrian forces was no “mistake”, but rather a deliberate attack on a sovereign nation, in order to provide air support to ISIS in Syria.

It really is the United States of Daesh.

What , only last April's heavily discredited reporting? Why not go for the bogus claims of chemical weapons by the Syrian government? You know, the BS that the barbaric US regime, and its bought media, tried to use to start a no fly zone and a bombing campaign in Syria a few short years ago?

God love the SAA for the whupping they're giving the US sponsored terrorists.

Russia and Syria committed war crimes yesterday and in April. None of what you're posting justifies that.

What justifies you quoting discredited articles from last April as though it was yesterday? Your Russophobia?

God love the Syrian Arab Army, their Allies in the Russian Air Force, in Hezbollah, in Iran's Republican Guard, who, together, are horse-whipping the US and NATO and Israeli and Gulf State autocracy-sponsored terrorists. May the latter be sent back to hell where they came from.

Long live the secular Syrian Republic! Pound those fundamentalists!

Timebandit Timebandit's picture

I have no truck with gods, nor with secular dictators. War crimes are being demonstrably committed by Assad's and Russian forces. Claiming that MSF is discredited does not make it so. 96 children is less than a week. You don't need "Russophobia", if there is such a thing (which I doubt) to think that's deeply wrong.

ikosmos ikosmos's picture

I don't doubt that plenty of civilians are being killed on both sides. I don't trust any of the Western sources anymore because of their habitual, possibly congenital, lying.

What do you have to say about the US-sponsored terrorists using civilians as human shields in eastern Aleppo? Or don't you give a shit?

Timebandit Timebandit's picture

I think the sources for that conclusion are weak and biased. I also think you're full of shit.

Russia and Assad's forces are committing war crimes. They are committing atrocities. How about we start a thread on that? Fair ball, isn't it, given the threads you've started on the US?

If US forces are targeting hospitals, I'd like to see them taken to task as well. However, what we know, right now, is that Russian and Assad Syrian forces ARE actually doing that.

Why not? This is precisely what I've done with actual Ukrainian atrocities over the last few years. Fill your boots.

It will actually be handy to be able to debunk the steaming piles of animal droppings in one, grab-bag thread. [Cracks open a fresh can of Whoop Ass, grinning...]

The NYT, the Washington Post, and the Voice of America will appreciate the many links you'll make to their "stories". And we'll see a great example of how the Western MSM re-gurgitates whole, without critique,  the views of their governments, the fake NGOs like the White Helmets, and so on.

What whoop ass? It's an internet forum, get some perspective already. Nothing you have to say has sweet fuck all effect on the real world. It's not like you're winning any arguments or converts here, or whatever your end game is.

Pretty much everybody here thinks you're either deranged or on a payroll. We don't respect anything you've got to say, or the sources you're pulling from. And certain of us find your toxic-masculine bullshitter style pretty laughable. So go ahead with your "whoop-ass", we could all use some comic relief. Really? That's your tune now?

What about these fundamentalists?

http://russia-insider.com/en/christianity/2014/11/04/02-14-23pm/christia...

From 2014:

Quote:

This is more evidence that Strelkov takes his Christian faith very seriously.   In April he formed the "Russian Orthodox Army", one of the major military units under his command.   Here are some pictures of him with his troops, featuring banners with the image of Christ the Savior, performing an oath of loyalty kissing the flag of a battalion in a church.

ikosmos ikosmos's picture

OMFG, Smith, you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel now, huh? Strelkov got the boot quite some time ago. (Your article is from 2014.) Maybe you could try switching to Stalin and argue that "Uncle Joe" is still exerting his influence from his 63-year-old grave? bwa!

And, in any case, the role of religious fundamentalism in the Ukrainian civil conflict is less significant than, say, ethnic racism (against Russian Ukrainians, for example) or Banderist affection for fascistic and ultra-nationalist ideas.

As well, everyone knows about the Wahhabist fundys all the way back to Osama bin Laden and the original CIA-funded Afghan "Dushmen" (bandits).

Christ, man, I'm embarrassed for you.

Oops! Did I offend any religious sensibilities with my barbaric yawp?

6079_Smith_W

You're the one praising secularism and denouncing religious armies, ikosmos; not me. You didn't seem to have a problem with it back when Girkin was orchestrating the takeover of Crimea, and military commander in the rebel territories.

ikosmos ikosmos's picture

Yeah, well, I'm a secularist fundamentalist myself, so I don't mind sticking the knife in now and then.

In any case, given the motivation for plenty of the Wahhabist Takfiri fundamentalists is in establishing a religious, sectarian state on Syrian territory, there is a real element of anti-fundamentalism in Syria's efforts: they forgive some of these bastards instead of killing them, an amnesty, etc., which is completely counter to the terrorist approach of mass graves left and right.

Good for Syria, even in war, they are finding a way to be humane.

Timebandit Timebandit's picture

Bombing hospitals run by Medecins sans Frontieres is not humane. It's a war crime.

Committed secularists don't call for god's blessings on war criminals. I don't know what you are, but it's more likely you're just as full of shit on that claim as you are on everything else.

What does "fill your boots" even mean, ikosmos? Is it more just more macho posturing, or does it have a meaning of some sort? The result of all of this, with the ceasefire having collapsed and with the Jihadis in eastern Aleppo trapped and facing defeat, is that the US is left thrashing around looking for something it can do.

Though the Jihadis in eastern Aleppo are – as is to be expected – putting up a fierce fight, as they are now cut off from any hope of reinforcement or resupply in what continues to be a battle of attrition, their strength every day dwindles.  The result is that with every day that passes news comes of further Syrian army advances in the city.

Yes. It is one thing to recongize the realpolitik in the situation here.

It is quite another to jump for joy about a city being razed to the ground and compare the civilians being slaughtered there to Nazis.

And cheer a gang who are, and frankly always were butchers.

You really think this is Stalingrad, ikosmos?

The cheer has to do with the end of the wars and slaughter...as long as the US Canada NATO mercenaries have any fighting spirit, paid by our hard currency, the slaughter will continue...

your characterization of the Syrian secular state where the people vote overwhelmingly for, as butchers, only belies your complete capitulation to the agencies of Orwellian disinformation, something which frankly disqualifies you from being taken seriously!
And your support for such imperialist adventures under the rubric of responsibility to protect, really disqualifies you from a participant in these threads. There is a Babble mandate...you ought to tread it!

Moderators getting involved in the debate usually means a failure of the moderators. You sure you want to do this? How can you moderate and be involved in the debate at the same time?

If you do, then I'd like to see what I've claimed here that is unsubstantiated.

The SAA is winning against the "jihadists". That is the key point, and I'm very happy about it. Others have already compared the pending victory in Aleppo to the victory of the Red Army in Stalingrad against the Nazis. As a turning point. Which, if successful, it is.

There are always civ casualties in war. Especially in circumstances in which one of the sides used human shields, as does the jihadis. The overwhelming majority of Syrians have fled to the part of Aleppo that is protected by the SAA. If the gov is in the wrong, and harming civilians, then why is the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF THE POPULATION SEEKING THEIR PROTECTION?

I'm not buying the White Helmet/jihadi news agency. Nor the Ceeb that re-gurgitates the gov position. This is supposed to be a critical discussion board.

If these sorts of posts are unacceptable, then please explain who I can and cannot criticize. Then I won't make the same "mistake" again.
