Greetings from the East Coast
I've only recently discovered Rabble and have been actively reading for several days now. Felt the urge to register this morning and introduce myself.
I'm 25 years old and a resident of Nova Scotia. Born and raised in Cape Breton, currently living just outside of Halifax. I'm very active in the labour movement and consider myself a proud trade unionist. I am a member of the Nova Scotia Government & General Employees Union (NSGEU) and also NUPGE. It was just last week that I was in Keene, Ontario for a NUPGE course where I had the opportunity to meet Duncan Cameron and James Laxer, which was when I was first introduced to Rabble. Before Duncan had finished speaking, I had a half dozen or so articles read on the site. In my defense I was reading many of his own articles.
I'm very intrigued with what I see on the site and the content is second to none. Even happier to see that I recognize many of the names that are involved with the site.
So I'm looking forward to discussing the issues with other members of the site. The next few years should provide us more than enough to talk about.
Always great to boost our labour and our East Coast contingent here on babble--and to do both in one fell swoop is a real coup. Welcome, wiseman! Can't wait to hear what you have to contribute...
And a welcome from Cape Breton no less!
Though I live on the mainland...
...when not flitting about the continent.
