Will the next Federal Election occur before the troops get out of Afghanistan?

Given that the new Chief of Staff to Michael Ignatieff, Peter Donolo, thinks the Liberals will need a minimum of 6 months to be ready to go to the polls again, (no election before April/2010?), I am wondering if Harper wants this Parliament to last until the troops in Afghanistan start to come home in 2011, or go earlier (Fall 2010?)

He doesn't want to go before all of the Conservative M.P.'s elected on June 28, 2004, qualify for their 6-year pensions, so a fall 2010 election now seems I.M.H.O. to be the most likely time he'll look to trigger the next election.

Agree, or disagree?

Would one of the moderators please shift this to Canadian Politics, please & thank you!

I speculate the next federal election will likely occur in late 2011 or early 2012.

Afghanistan is a dead issue for now.
