I take an interest in jobs issues and like to hear anecdotal information. Businesses are always cutting costs and in small and medium businesses they test the labour market for the bottom by shopping around. Lots of social issues discussed on Babble but I know people here are living with managers that are pushy.
I work as a auto part courier and the dispatch is the supervisor. This job is in constant rotation because the employer won't pay. Recently management got a single Mom that was driving for us to do the job for about $3 less than the market will tolerate. Management offered the supervisor position to this woman and then figured they didn't have to pay her. It's a high pressure job and the arrangement won't last.
