'Quebec gas price-fixing case nets more charges'

2nd round of charges in Competition Bureau's largest investigation ever
'Criminal charges have been laid against 25 people and three companies accused of fixing the price of gasoline in four Quebec communities.

'According to the federal Competition Bureau, evidence shows gasoline retailers or their representatives in Victoriaville, Thetford Mines, Magog and Sherbrooke phoned one another and agreed on the price they would charge customers for gasoline.

'The bureau said the charges conclude the largest criminal investigation in its history, involving the seizure of 100,000 records, searches of 90 locations and wiretap recordings of several thousand telephone conversations ... '
