It's too bad the radio hosts behaved like self-conscious twits, lobbing stupid, embarrassing jokes at her, instead of getting her to discuss - as if she was really talking to Sarkozy - the secret Repug agenda on sensitive issues such as fossil and nuclear energy choices, the Wall Street Bailout, immigration, the imperialist wars, compensating Afro-Americans for slavery...
Another example of misogyny derailing an urgent, essential critique.

I don't like these kind of sophomore pranks being done to celebrities.
I know many people think it makes Palin look dumb, but it also makes the audience look like it's primarily Joe Plumbers and Six-packs.
"Haha. They made funny with a famous person."
The subject matter of their conversation and weak imitation of French politicos makes these suburban-basement clowns look pretty dumb as well.
My internet isn't fast enough to listen to it, but I read an article about it, and it looks pretty funny. Comedy is an important vehicle for criticism- and she has been accused an proved to be ignorant before.
The "Can we go hunting in a helicopter together" line was pretty cute.

Yeah, she's a pretty easy mark.

It's conficting, really. I've seen Palin made fun of quite a bit. I mean, I turned off the Curic interview. I can take being embarassed. I mean, look at me here.
But I can't take being embarassed for someone else.
On the other hand, she's involved in some pretty serious freakin' business. And people should be aware of her abilities, such as they are.
On top of that, there's been stuff she's had to handle that's been sexist, and that's wrong even if it isn't our political ox being gored. For once.
Any way you slice it, painfull to watch. But much of it necessary, I suppose.

There's nothing sexist with showing that a candidate for VP of the United States is as dumb as a post and ridiculously unqualified.
Back in 1968, the Democrats ran ads making fun of Spiro Agnew that had nothing but canned laughter for a whole minute while the TV screen said "Spiro Agnew for Vice-President?" then at the end the voice over said "This would be funny if it wasn't so serious".
These jokesters who make these prank calls have gone after men just as much as women. A number of years ago a comedian in Montreal pretended to be Jean Chretien, got put through to Pope John Paul II and asked him if he had ever thought of attaching a little plastic propeller to his skull cap!!
I can't say I dissagree with you Stockholm, whole heartedly. I think people in the Republican Party that called her a "Diva" certainly crossed the sexist line, if no one else did.
It's just not sitting right with me.

Nobody expects Marg Delahunty to be serious either.
