Of course there is also this astonishingly sensible response (that gets to the problem everyone seems to be ignoring) from someone who was smeared in one of those leaked emails:

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2016/10/larry-lessig-has-a-very-goo...

Quote:

I’m a big believer in leaks for the public interest. That’s why I support Snowden, and why I believe the President should pardon him. But I can’t for the life of me see the public good in a leak like this — at least one that reveals no crime or violation of any important public policy.

We all deserve privacy. The burdens of public service are insane enough without the perpetual threat that every thought shared with a friend becomes Twitter fodder.

He makes a good point.

"Someone talked smack about someone else" isn't really "whistleblowing" in any real sense.

Digital Information Warfare: WikiLeaks, Assange and the US Presidential Elections  - by Binoy Kampmark

https://t.co/W3w39kbEeF

"As the Clinton campaign emphasizes the stolen character of the data in a hope of some miraculous rite of purification, WikiLeaks remains committed in refocusing attacks on one of the least attractive contenders for the White House in US political history.

Substance does count more than form, and the messages are there to prove it."

Unspeakable America

http://blackagendareport.com/clinton_trump_unspeakable_america

"Having no real defense against the obvious, the Clinton campaign and most of the corporat emedia painted Wikileaks as an arm of Russian intelligence. The purpose of this New McCarthyism was to inoculate the public against believing Clinton's own words, as they were spoken to bankers,

and at the same time discredit Trump's position that the US should seek better relations with Russia and stop helping jihadists in Syria..."

TiSA Agreement Leaks Show Corporations Pushing Privatization of Public Services

quote:

WikiLeaks has released 3 chapters of the highly secretive Trade in Services Agreement that is currently being negotiated among 50 different countries. But as usual, the big players are the EU and the US, that are dominating the talks. This is not a light deal, the Trade and Services Agreement is also known as TiSA. It represents two thirds of the world’s GDP and is supposed to deregulate all kinds of services, including telecommunications, shipping, air sea transport, energy mining, and financial services. There are too many to mention all of them here. But the WikiLeaks files released last week also show that the European Union is pushing negotiators to complete the agreement before the next US president takes office in January. Opponents of this agreement have long argued that TiSA would significantly undermine democracy and economic development for less developed countries.

Given that little more than 1% of Snowden's leaked materials have been released, methinks GG doth protest too much...

He said indiscriminately, NDPP. That means without paying attention to what they are doing, and that is how they have been doing it. One example:

Whenever US imperialism declares an enemy target, Smith can always be counted upon to explain to 'progressives' why it should be theirs as well. Slava Ukraini Smith!

Or counted on to point out what words mean:

Quote:

in·dis·crim·i·nateˌindəˈskrimənət/

adjectiveadjective: indiscriminate

done at random or without careful judgment.

Doesn't mean dump the whole thing, NDPP. And don't be silly. Is Glenn Greenwald one of your imperialists now too?

Julian Assange says “1,700 emails in Hillary Clinton’s collection” proves she sold weapons to ISIS in Syria [Video]Then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton knew that the US was sending arms from Libya to Syria in 2011, a year before the Benghazi attacks.

Hilary Clinton should be in the dock for Crimes Against Humanity, as the list of atrocities is getting longer and longer. What is also clear now is that Clinton, knowingly, provided arms to Qatar and Saudi Arabia [while Sec of State] while the latter were providing funding, training, and arms to the barbarous jihadi terrorists in Syria. For that alone she should be in jail.

God only knows what disgusting atrocities she would order should she become POTUS.

Look NDPP, I can appreciate that the US and Sweden are exploiting this, and basically obstructing justice, but perhaps Assange should have thought twice and kept it in his pants rather than deciding to jump on a sleeping woman and start having sex with her. It is sexual assault.

And maybe he should think twice about exploiting his organization which is potentially everything Moore says, but is currently being used as a cheap get out of jail free card.

Glad you agree that (evasion of justice, actually) is what this is all about. I'd add that Assange is basically playing the U.S. election and the reputation of his organization to that self-centred end.

Inside the Invisible Government: John Pilger

https://t.co/zkL6Y6gVqt

"As WikiLeaks has revealed, it was only when Syrian leader Bashar al Assad in 2009 rejected an oil pipeline running through his country from Qatar to Europe, that he was attacked. From that moment, the CIA planned to destroy the government of Syria with jihadist fanatics - the same fanatics currently holding the people of Mosul and eastern Aleppo hostage."

Leaked Documents Detail How Wall Street Bought the Clintons

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2016/10/28/clin-o28.html

"Documents released by WikiLeaks Wednesday given the fullest picture so far of the way that Bill and Hillary Clinton built up their private fortune during the years after they left the White House in 2001.

Hundreds of memos and emails detail how corporations and banks were recruited to funnel millions into the for-profit activities of the enterprise that a top aide, Douglas Band, called 'Bill Clinton Inc'."

So you feel it should go through civil court?  Because that's where you "sue" somebody.

What kind of damages are you expecting the Court to order?  And payable to whom?

Yes it would be through the federal Court, based on provivions of the Charter, Canada´s anti terrorism act, and international law on crimes against the peace........it would be a judicial review both of the actions of the CBC and the failure of the CRTC to maintain standards based on Canadian values, its mandate.

Damages? Perhaps to the families of the millions who have died for the gross deceptions of the CBC as per the John Pilger article, perhaps jail sentences of those in the CBC held responsible!
