Could someone in Canada go to prison for life, for complicity???

The real scandal of the 650,000 Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin emails hidden on the laptop or laptops at the home of Anthony Wiener, estranged husband of Huma Abedin, is not that Hillary might have lied under oath about turning over all her emails. The real scandal is that the most damaging secrets of America’s invisible government, its parallel “deep state” acting uncontrolled since at least the time of Vice president and former CIA chief, George H.W. Bush, in the 1980’s, could come to light. If that happens, “All the King’s Horses and All the King’s Men” will face charges of treason or worse. That just might be an appropriate time to begin a clean out of the Augean Stables today known as political Washington.

Please stop posting this crap on babble. It's not progressive nor is it factual.

      NDPP

It wasn't 'progressive' to support the bombing of Libya, the US coup in Ukraine, or the Western project to destroy Syria, yet all kinds of people here did precisely that. You're wading into dangerous territory, especially given the track record here, of deciding 'factual' or 'progressive.'

      iyraste1313

Please stop posting this crap on babble. It's not progressive nor is it factual....

...I have read 2 reports so far, on the fact that Clinton`s State department not only withdrew security for the Ambassador, but delayed to send in support, when the riots ensued....I write this to elicit counter information which would disprove that......

I am waiting! Progressive? Seeking the truth is progressive!

We all understand that you work minimal paid hours, and have a lot of ground to cover when you do.  Could you use some help flagging tinfoil-hattery like this?  Many hands make light work.

You know, I sympathize with that sentiment, but I also think of what can possibly go wrong, given that we have just had someone here lecture MegB for doing her job, and we seem to have a standing line of applicants for self-appointed moderator who think they know what is best. So while it is a good idea in theory, and I plan to continue flagging really over the top stuff on occasion, it might wind up making more work than it relieves if it turns into a free for all committee.

      Mr. Magoo

If you flag a post as offensive then under "Reason" there's an option for "Spam!".

Is it better if babble hosts a relentless shitstorm of alt-Right conspiracy k00Kery, but spends their handful of paid moderation hours per week deleting "NFL Tickets Cheap!!"?  Honestly, I'd rather see the spam here, because there's nothing particularly embarrassing about spam.

I'm sure that when the main page RSS feed clogs up with posts about Hillary's body double, some rabble editor dies a little inside.  S/he secured republishing rights to a Noam Chomsky essay, s/he spent 4 weeks convincing Maude Barlow to contribute an article, s/he organized an online roundtable discussion of the effects of Trudeau's government on the collective bargaining process, and WHOOPS!, right there on the front page we learn that Counterpunch.org heard from "reliable inside sources" that Hillary Clinton personally taught the 9/11 hijackers to fly a plane.

      6079_Smith_W

Magoo. I agree with you .

I am making a bit of a joke about the fact there are plenty of would-be moderators who might read your comment start getting bright ideas. It has happened often enough.

Fair enough.  I'm very aware that you would have as much to lose as anyone, what with all your Nazi-lovin', "Russophobic", Banderite posts and suchlike.

Not to mention all the posts you could have made but did not.  Maybe babble needs the option to report a non-post.  "He COULD HAVE criticized this, but he didn't!!!"

*You very tenaciously believe that it's everyone else's job to disprove your k00Kery.  It's not.*

It`s crucial to understand your enemy...to think that Clinton is a friend of progressives is the highest of fantasy and kookery.....

We must understand who may win this election....the facts are out there...Ambassador Stevens was murdered....his security was told to stand down...no security came to his defence, despite his pleas for help...his security were members of the Febuary 17th brigade, allies of Al Qaeda, hired by Clinton`s State Depar tment, while it was another Al Queda group that did the murder...

Stevens was engaged in weapons transfers from Libya to Syria through Turkey...there was conflict over the transfer of anti missile weapons in this transfer......

these are facts! provable!  What must be uncovered are the motives and the players involved. Clinton was engaged in this process!

If you wish to ignore this reality...fine, then go back and dig your head back into the sand...but facts are facts...

I`m waiting to see the wikileaks emails on the motive!

Admitted the Russians gave Assange "help."

      6079_Smith_W

And about how much more of a real journalist Assange is than the real journalists:

      http://www.advocate.com/media/2016/8/23/wikileaks-outs-saudi-gay-man-rap...

He has done the same thing to activists in Turkey, and elsewhere.

I could repeat that even Anonymous dumped his ass years ago because, in their words, it was just "The Julian Assange Show".

And the t-shirt upthread. Real funny, considering he is in that embassy because he couldn't keep his dink in his pants and decided to jump on a sleeping woman.

It looks like he is going to get his wish, and beat that investigation; that is why he went after Clinton and left Trump alone. That is why he turned his talents over to Russian spooks (who probably have just as much dirt on Trump, and will no doubt use it now). So much for his professional standards.

      Quote:

On Tuesday evening, Sean Hannity, a Donald Trump adviser and foot soldier who moonlights as a host on Fox News, further escalated his love affair with Julian Assange and WikiLeaks.

      ...

As the Fox host acknowledged during the episode, six years ago, he accused Assange of “waging war against the U.S.” by publishing secret diplomatic cables that Hannity said at the time put American lives in “jeopardy” and “danger” all over the world. Back then, the Fox News star was asking why the Obama administration hadn’t “arrested” Assange, wondering, why “we can stop pirating music and Hollywood movies, but we can’t stop this guy from stealing highly classified documents that puts people’s lives at risk?”

However, during the 2016 presidential election, when Assange became widely known as anti-Clinton, the unflaggingly pro-Trump Hannity had a fast change of heart. And thus Fox News, a cable news network that in years past has pumped out the most aggressive type of anti-Assange messaging, was itself transformed into a warm and affectionate public-relations platform for WikiLeaks and its staff.

U.S. intelligence agencies obtained what they considered to be conclusive evidence after the November election that Russia provided hacked material from the Democratic National Committee to WikiLeaks through a third party, three U.S. officials said on Wednesday.  U.S. officials had concluded months earlier that Russian intelligence agencies had directed the hacking, but had been less certain that they could prove Russia also had controlled the release of information damaging to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

No, he said there's a dearth of evidence. There actually is quite a bit of evidence. It has been accumulating since before the email story broke. Greenwald doesn't even go so far as to bring it up to try and discredit it, because he knows he doesn't have to.

US intelligence has identified the go-betweens the Russians used to provide stolen emails to WikiLeaks, according to US officials familiar with the classified intelligence report that was presented to President Barack Obama on Thursday.

Vice President Joe Biden said in an interview with PBS NewsHour that an unclassified version of an intel report provided to him will be released "very shortly" and will "lay out in bold print what" the US knows about the hacking

"Senior officials in the Russian government celebrated Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton as a geopolitical win for Moscow, according to U.S. officials who said that American intelligence agencies intercepted communications in the aftermath of the election in which Russian officials congratulated themselves on the outcome."

"Other key pieces of information gathered by U.S. spy agencies include the identification of “actors” involved in delivering stolen Democratic emails to the WikiLeaks website, and disparities in the levels of effort Russian intelligence entities devoted to penetrating and exploiting sensitive information stored on Democratic and Republican campaign networks."

"Those and other data points are at the heart of an unprecedented intelligence report being circulated in Washington this week that details the evidence of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign and catalogues other cyber operations by Moscow against U.S. election systems over the past nine years."

      ------------

      The evidence here is:

Russian officals were happy and congratulated themselves when Trump won.

The same officials were surprised when Trump won.

Russia spent more time and resources attempting to hack the DNC than the republicans.

The identification of "actors" who delivered the DNC emails to Wikileaks

      -----------

Be curious to see if they reveal who the "actors" are to the public.

Personally I don't care much if the Russian government did or didn't hack DNC emails/assist Wikileaks or otherwise help Trump.   But apart from this claim about the actor who delivered the DNC emails to Wikileaks, I haven't seen anything I would consider conclusive evidence they did.   Certainly nothing that would be better than circumstantial evidence.
