Mandatory Minimums: only for marijuana??

Anyone else notice that the new mandatory minimums only focus on marijuana? Nothing in there about harder drugs, but someone growing FIVE PLANTS can get up to a year in prison?
Strange contrast with the new mandatory minimum for luring children on the internet, which is like 90 days max.

The NDP tossed the cannabis users under the bus years ago.. dont expect much interest around here. I expect they believe its a vote loser of an issue and now that the delusion of forming a phony majority exists, they won't be fighting to hard against it. Dont want to appear 'soft on crime' eh?

What mystifies me is why so many of them vote for things that are going to come back and bite them in the ass

Ya, how wrong is that!!
The Cons might be in denial about the amount sexual abuse happening, or the harm it does. We don't seem to even have an accurate estimation of how many people are abused in this way. I wish the Cons would do something usefull instead of pandering to the America War on Drugs.
If you made it rougher for dudes in suits to be pulled over with an 8 ball of blow, you'd lose the Bay Street and Banker vote.
