Minor hockey coach attacks, injures13-year-old opposing player
The intent was clear. He sticks his leg right out and trips the guy. He then gives the finger to people who were yelling at him. What an asshole. The kid broke his wrist. This coach should be charged. And banned from youth hockey.
He has been judged and sent to jail for assaulting a minor. I listened to a piece about him and apparently he has been a coach and scoutmaster for decades. His lawyer claims he went off some meds for depression for three weeks and this was the result. He didn't say when his client started taking them and how long he took them for.
This happened Saturday. The coach was suspended by the Vancouver Minor Hockey League. But because it's hockey, no charges have yet been laid.
Apparently the RCMP are "recommending" that charges be laid. Doesn't Vancouver have a police service?

A sad story all around but a proper sentence.
