Premier Christy Clark trade junket to China

Yes, I sent the letter as to NRCD as shown below to Premier Christy Clark. 

This issue has not had any comment from her, she has been very cagey about the oil tanker question. She avoided any statements about Enbridge proposal before the election, didn't answer any letters we sent asking for her position. I even joined the Liberal Party BC (gag) before the election to try and get feedback from the inside. Nada.

She and delegation of 125 (list is online) leave tomorrow for China to press hands, smile and show the Chinese what a huge need we have for their stuff and expertise? to be flowing into BC. In return would they perhaps like some crude oil --oh yes with $10 B.n++ in their tar sands investment. Sinopec the Chinese national energy co. --great partnership!

If she tries to sell salmon that are farmed, well, they must be aware of the latest findings re. salmon anemia virus causing worldwide concern. Affects Atlantic farmed salmon which we have exclusively in our unsustainable aquaculture industry.

I will write her today and request she ask them about artists, poets, writers, dissenters, religious groups, environmental standards, social and worker standards. They don't like pesky questions about workers' freedom, poverty, displacement of poor and environment! 

Today in Globe and Mail, BC section: "Crosscheck (thumbs down)--Clark Shouldn't Put Too Much Stock Into That Trade Mission", quoted Canadian Journal of Economics (last year) that trade missions have, "small, negative and mainly insignificant effects." No, the Chinese will get more I think.

I like to know what she's promising them. Most BC residents have polled negative on the Enbridge pipeline/tanker issue. The Chinese are definitely not stupid.

Maybe her return comments will let us know how much we've been sold down the Yangtze.
