Yeah I'm pretty confident that my post is within those guidelines, and if not happy to be booted your continued inability to participate in discussion has rendered a discussion board fairly useless.

Your posts aren't even on topic.  They have nothing to do with the Ontario election. That's trolling 101.

Actually my original post was about the Mysogyny Kathleen Wynne (and now Andrea Horwath) have been enduring on the campaign. And how Andrea is riding a wave of anger right into the Premier office. Just like Trudeau rode a wave of anger at Harper into the PM office.

Ken Burch is the one who veered off into the Liberals propping up the Harper Government. I was just responding to him that the NDP did also prop up the Harper Government, It is all in the link below (if you bothered to follow how this thread has gone)

So talking about Mysogyny and riding a wave of anger during this election is NOT trolling as it is on topic to the discussion at hand.

It's misogynist to switch from a party led by a woman...to a party led by a woman?

By the time you finished writing this part of your comment, you should have had a little voice in the back of your head telling you that you’re pretty much wasting your time now.

For the most part I myself do try to ignore baiting and trolling but from time to time I feel it’s healthy to call it out with a couple comments here and there

The personal impression of the leaders matters much more.

Last time I checked Andrea Horwath wasn't the recipient of misogyny wrapped in homophobia

No, she get's the less offensive mysogyny wrapped up in classism.

She and Andrea make the same salary, so how can it be classism?

Personally I am getting some satisfaction out MM's antics.  Usually it is the NDP supporters making lame excuses for pitiful results. It is nice to see that others are poor losers also.

Ciabatta2

They don't make the same salary.

And that has nothing to do with it even if they did.

Read the coverage.  Learn the signals.  Pay attention beyond your own interests.  And then you won't miss it.  Check out the fawning articles about Wynne lately, who they come from, and how they portray her.  And then check out pretty much any profile of Andrea.  Notice the differences.

Discussing homophobic misogyny directed at someone gives you satisfaction? Erin Weir misread verbal cues and hgot kicked out of caucus, yet you are celebrating homophobic misogyny?

I've seen the TV coverage and it is all Andrea all the time, I rarely see anything about Kathleen Wynne. And I've said this more than once. It is Horwath vs Ford, and no one is paying any attention to Wynne. TV coverage is earned media, and Horwath would rather have that than a magazine article that no one is reading.

Mysogyny attacks were more about Wynne sexuality and her looks.

Lol! What a load of fuckin garbage!

Misogyny is the hatred of women. Hatred of alternative lifestyles is homophobia or sexuality discrimination or sexual prejudice and using someone’s appears for OR against them is very shallow and never has any merits in my books.

Youre just baiting and trolling. Give it a rest fellow poster. Try quality over quantity for a bit.

Kathleen Wynne is in every single article.  She's the Premier.  And when was the last time we saw fawning articles ala  John Barber, Christie Blatchford, and anything by Martin Regg Cohn for a third placed candidate.  Then read the "working girl" treatment Horwath gets.  Even Liberals understand classism, I know because I was one!  Try to discuss, not disown.

and in every news report she gets 15 seconds, tops while Andrea is getting tons of coverage. That is because she is leading in the polls and Wynne is third.

Again Horwath would rather have this earned media on TV, than some article no one is reading.

You haven't read the articles, have you?  I dn't know why I bothered, it's like talking to someone from another planet.  Having worked for both parties, I can attest to always finding the Liberal's echo chamber being the strongest. At least most NDPers are a single betrayed principle from throwing in the towel.  Anyway, I will refrain.  I apologize for coming here for discussion. I make the same mistake every election.  I miss the days of people liek Bookish Agrarian but I now understand what drove him and his ilk away. ADios.

Ciabatta2 wrote:

I've seen it in passing, and I haven't read any of them. But that is my point. People eyeballs focus more on TV coverage than in-depth written articles. Look at Trump. He got an estimated 1 Billion dollars in free earned media from the networks, despite all the written articles about Clinton.

People catch and only have time for the quick news report, People seriously DO NOT have time to sit down and read a 700 word article. It is what catches people eyeballs, and Horwath is getting more  earned media than Wynne, despite all these articles you are waving around because no one is reading them.

Considering how Trump won the election with all that free media, I pretty confident Horwath is not perturbed about this "class" warfare (print vs TV) as she would rather get all the free TV media than a 700 word article.

At least you are being honest about you having no problems about the homophobic Misogynic vitriol against Kathleen Wynne by groups like Ontario Proud and Readers of Toronto Sun.

Meanwhile these same groups are turning their attacks of misogyny against Andrea Horwath now that she is leading in the polls. So if course if you are fine with Wynne being the recipient of this, you should equally fine with Horwath getting the same treatment.

But I don't think ANY female politician, regardless of political stripe should endure this type of sexist, Misogynic abuse on social media.

Their was misogyny directed at Kathleen Wynne by the right.  and ONLY by the right.  Neither misogyny nor homophobia have anything to do with the swing to the ONDP in the polls.   The swing to the ONDP is, in fact, a rejection of misogyny and of homophobia, since the ONDP has at least a strong a position on LGBTQ rights as the OLP, if not stronger.  On that set of issues, the NDP, provincial and federal, is the party of Svend Robinson and the LGBTQ movement, not of Tommy Douglas in 1968.

Liberals may have just cost themselves what little support they have left. Idiots!

'Please don't interrupt me,' says Horwath as Liberal candidate crashes NDP event

NDP Leader Andrea Horwath had an unexpected visitor at her announcement in Etobicoke this morning — local Liberal candidate (and longtime MPP) Shafiq Qaadri.

Qaadri brought along a large Liberal sign and stood behind Horwath while she spoke to media.

"I think it is unfortunate that they have decided to do this," Horwath said. "What am I going to say? It's their decision to behave that way. They'll have to explain it for themselves."

Qaadri then tried to butt in, but Horwath wouldn't let him. "I'm going to finish my press conference and you can have all the time you want to talk to the media. But please don't interrupt me. It's very rude."

The Liberal candidate defended his actions, saying he gets interrupted when he is campaigning.

When asked if it was a "desperate move", Qaadri said "it may look that way but as I say, it's really just my riding. I was campaigning just at the corner ... and that's why I'm here."

Wynne called Qaadri's crashing "inappropriate" while her campaign director David Herle was apologetic:

None of us here are fine with homophobia or misogyny.  But MM knows perfectly well those forms of prejudice have nothing to do with the ONDP rising in the polls.  Remember, Wynne was repeatedly re-elected in years when the voters knew what her sexual orientation was.  It's not as though you have to vote OLP instead of ONDP to prove you're not a bigot, fer crissakes.

NorthReport

Andrea needs to basically ignore the Liberals and keep the attack on Doug Ford front and centre until voting day. The more voters see of him the more they will be turned off voting for him. Ford's event this morning says it all. The Doug Ford brand is seriously slipping so Ford is being forced to bring in reinforcements in a desperate attempt to stop the slippage.

Trolling

https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Trolling

Trolling requires decieving; any trolling that doesn't involve decieving someone isn't trolling at all; it's just stupid. As such, your victim must not know that you are trolling; if he does, you are an unsuccesful troll.

Signs that your trolling is unsuccesful:
*Your victim identifying you as a troll.
*Identifying yourself as a troll.
*Your efforts being ignored.
*Being counter-trolled (See below)

Social media was just the same in 2014.  In any case, the swing from the OLP to the ONDP had nothing to do with the homophobic attacks on Wynne from the right.  The ONDP is just as pro-LGBTQ as the OLP, if not more so.
