From what I know, she has been reading some of their pubs in newspapers for a while and got curious. It's good to get on the mailing list of people or groups you dont disagree with just to be able to find out what they're up to.

If you look at their website 'values' it says they do interfaith events and work with other communities a lot. I wonder which events they are talking about?

Unionist, really? Do you know these guys? I never heard of that? I saw the CJ News article and all they talked about was bridge building:

Ron Banerjee, the twerp who put this site together has blogged here on Babble as Rban, and a few other nick names. He is a one man show, who make a big deal about his supposed "interfaith" values. He's smart enough to cover up his racism in complex rationalizations, but fundamentally he is anti-muslim through and through. There is nothing progressive about him.

In fact, he is a little mad. He suggested once to me, here on this site, that Brahmin Hindus (the upper caste of Hindu caste society) were akin to the Jews as a ethnic minority. He even suggested that attempts to dismantle the caste system, and take away their privileged status, amounted to racism against Brahmin, because you see they represent an "ethnicity" not a social class. This whacked out idea seemed to be based in to some pretty fundamental stereotypical ideas about Jews, for example that Jews are all rich, an idea he associates with Brahmin Hindus.

Muslims are the root of all evil according to Banerjee, who he maintains were the actual perpetrators of the "real" Holocaust that was conducted during the Moghul period of Indian history, when the Muslim princes displaced the Brahmin as the rulers of most of India.

He is also an open suporter of the ultra-Nationalist BJP. 

He does a good business in the wine and cheese circuit of Toronto's Queen street intelligencia, offering himself up as ethnic flavour to the well heeled media types who like to hear what they want to hear from people of colour. Knocking Muslims will always get you an extra round of drinks at the bar these days.

That is my take on him. 

He is no democrat, as we can see, because his Press Release, basically calls for political supression of anyone who supports Hamas. I support Hamas at this particular juncture, against Israeli agression, and the mass murder Israel is perpetrating in the Gaza.

What is it that Banerjee means when he says: "HAMAS is a terrorist organization. Terrorist supporters in CANADA, including KHALISTAN supporters and others, cannot be tolerated in our democracy."

There is nothing tolerant about that statement.

He should be arrested for disseminating hate literature.
