For those engaged in the fight for a $10 minimum wage in BC, excellent research from CUPE staffer Keith Reynolds about the minimum wage levels in Cdn provinces, with helpful analysis of BC circumstance specifically, is available at CCPA Policy Note.

The after tax argument doesn't seem to take into account the HST/GST and HST/GST credit, which is capped, the cap depending on marital status, family size, and income.

You'll find the BC HST credit described here. It is complicated given various individual attributes will mean differing total credits, but nothing suggests the HST credit moves the minimum wage earner above lowest in Canada in aftertax earnings.

I didn't suggest it did, just the CCPA analysis didn't take it into account.
