NDP leader James is on right track, says former premier Harcourt

The Hook is reporting that Mike Harcourt has come out in support of Carole James.

Harcourt characterized the rift as a "traditional debate" within the party between those who want to form an opposition and those who want to be seen as an alternative that's ready to govern. "It's been going on for decades," he said.

This is definitely thread proliferation, which is frowned on here.

You should have just posted it in Finally it's out there: Who else is tired of walking on eggshells over Carole James' BC NDP...

It would be nice if people didnt title threads in such a stilted way, which gets people who strongly disagree wanting their own thread titles to be seen.

But discussions inevitably move beyond and/or in spite of thread title.

I think it causes Carole James thread starter envy, or something. Premier Carole James sounds good to me.

Well said KenS - I hope our great Mods, and I say that most sincerely, are listening.

Like I said, people who heavily stilt the naming of threads make others feel like they should have a thread title stilted in their direction.

So in other words, if you had worded the earlier thread title as if it was a discussion, rather than a statement, the opening post here would have been more likely to just appear as another post in that existing thread.

This is what the title used to say before the edit:

NDP Leader is on right track to be a one one term premier, says former one term premier Harcourt. ;-)

Harcourt is correct in his finding as the NDP can taste victory in the next up coming election and of course there are those who feel they can govern the province better than the rest.  Carol James needs to connect with British Colombians with the direction the party will take once given the opportunity to govern this province.  With government only open 6 months of the year it also makes for a real comfy job or is this Campbells way of getting rid of government from interfering with his plans.  If legislature were open like it should be the HST WOULD ALREADY BE BOOTED OUT.  How does Campbell do it with his 9% rating  which I predict is even going to get lower and so long Mr. Campbell you make history as the most unpopular premier that ever was.  Makes me laugh at the news broadcasters that claim Campbell is the greatest and will take this province to new highs but he and the province are on the bottom instead.  Carol needs to connect with her party members and the people of this province and don't forget your commitment to the people of the province and medium and small business and going green as city plans are already in the making.  Again don't worry about big business they know how to fend for itself  and nobody else as big business views politicians as mere puooets and big business the masters with all the strings.  The odds are much better in helping the little guy out as there is more to spread around as small and medium sized business are flexible and innovative.  Big Business has gotten all the brakes along with voters cash so what more could they want?  A scary question indeed.  I like to see regulations in place for the green province which will also open up a real opportunity for this province as being innovative as its going to take more than a carbon tax for people who don't have much of a carbon foot print to make the grade as other countries don't feel the carbon tax is all that it is made out to be.  So how low can Campbell go as PREMIER sits with 9%  of the popular vote and still losing ground.....
