The Council of Canadians extends its solidarity to the ‘No Dash for Gas’ activists who are occupying (inside and on top of) a power station’s 90-metre-high chimneys in Nottinghamshire in England. BBC reports, “The group is opposed to the gas-powered plant on environmental grounds…” Eight activists climbed down yesterday (and were arrested) to reduce “their numbers to preserve food supplies so the protest could go on longer. …One of the protesters, Danny Chivers, said they would remain at the power station until they felt their point had been made in the ’strongest possible way’. …Six activists remain camped on the chimneys.”
