'Child Care Now!' signs indicate how far the real women's movement has been hijacked by the left.  My kids never went to day care - ever.  They were too important to let a stranger raise.

They're your kids, you look after them.

My own small thoughts are this:

I think we have to look further than the choice of daycare.

Because in many situations there isn't a choice. Single parents who are trying to work and raise their children have no choice.  The alternative is to apply for welfare which does not provide enough assistance and struggle against poverty.

BC has the highest children poverty rate in all of Canada.  Think about that.  Think about parents who are lining up for food banks and balancing working being able to afford day care (if they can even find one!) .  I work at a college where single parents are juggling school and jobs and sick kids and it's hard. What other choices can we give them?

Before we criticize people for speaking out about these issues,  we have to listen to why they are speaking.
