Josée Madéia took to the trees at a young age and has been interested in political and democratic institutions since schoolhood. The youth environmental movement has been her home and field of study--she recently completed her M.A. in political sociology--and she's worked with youth, feminist and environmental NGOs and on local enviro-projects in Ottawa and Halifax. She's now a member of the Canadian Youth Delegation getting ready for the 15th Conference of the Parties, the climate talks, in Copenhagen this December.

COP15 : Reclaim Power

| December 16, 2009

Today's a big day in Copenhagen. It's the last day NGO and civil society has access to the Bella Centre. A big action, Reclaim Power, is planned for people inside and outside the centre. A people's assembly is going to take place.

Climate justice activists aren't sure what to expect what with the mass arrests that have been taking place in the city this past week.

Today would be a stellar day to contact your MP, to write a letter to the editor, to have  conversations with strangers, to let our leaders and people know that you want a fair, ambitious and legally binding treaty coming out of Copenhage, that the principle of climate justice is key, and that you support the efforts of civil society in Copenhagen.

merci. in solidarity.
