Blog created September 28th. Last update October 16.

Here’s a heads-up on the growing #Occupy movement, in solidarity with #OccupyWallStreet, @OccupyToronto, and the countless other @Occupy movements across the world.

I’ll be updating this page when more Occupy demonstrations are announced.

Save the date for the national Occupy Canada actions: Saturday, October 15, 2011.

But first I ask you to check out this important information regarding the #Occupy movement, or should I say Occupy(ed) since Turtle Island is occupied territory. To learn more, please read Jessica Yee’s piece here: OCCUPY WALL STREET: The Game of Colonialism and further nationalism to be decolonized from the “Left

“The antiglobalization movement was the first step on the road. Back then our model was to attack the system like a pack of wolves. There was an alpha male, a wolf who led the pack, and those who followed behind. Now the model has evolved. Today we are one big swarm of people.” – Raimundo Viejo, Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, Spain

Of the Occupy Movement, filmmaker Michael Moore said, “”This is literally an uprising of people who have had it. It has already started to spread across the country in other cities. It will continue to spread. … It will be tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of people … Their work ahead is not as difficult as other movements in the past … The majority of Americans are really upset at Wall Street … So you have already got an army of Americans who are just waiting for somebody to do something, and something has started.”
