After repeated warnings and after an unsuccessful court injunction to halt a city eviction levied on November 15, 2011, Occupy Toronto received a further eviction notice from St. James Cathedral on Monday, November 21, 2011.

Ironically or not, this was the same day that Ontario Judge David Brown announced that he was lifting the injunction that put a halt to the city eviction of Occupy Toronto.

Police and CUPE 416 city workers did not move into the area to evict Occupy Toronto until Wednesday, November 23, 2011 in the early morning, though the eviction process took most of the day.

The photos in my Occupy Toronto photo essay cover the Wednesday, November 23, 2011 eviction.

That evening, Occupy Toronto held another General Assembly at City Hall, where it vowed to continue the fight. General Assemblies will be held every evening at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.

To prove that Occupy Toronto is the cat who came back the day following the eviction, Occupy Canada members — including those from London, Ottawa, Montreal and Kitchener — joined Occupy Toronto activists and members of the Ontario Federation of Labour in a 1,000-person march through Toronto’s financial district and City Hall.

Occupy Toronto is dead. Long live Occupy Toronto!
