Join filmmaker Velcrow Ripper, long-time activist Judy Rebick and LGBT2 activist Stefonknee Wolscht as well as Occupiers from Toronto to discuss the role of love and compassion in politics and the Occupy movement.

Where: Friends of Quakers (60 Lowther Ave - Bloor and Spadina area)
When: Saturday, December 17, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. -- food will be served at 6:30 and discussion will begin at 7 p.m.

Canadian documentary filmmaker and media activist Velcrow Ripper (director Scared Sacred and Fierce Light) has been filming at Occupy Wall Street in New York since day one for his upcoming feature documentary, Occupy Love: A Global Revolution of the Heart.

Velcrow has recently returned from filming Occupy Oakland's epic General Strike, tracing the roots of the movement through the Arab Spring at Tahrir Square in Egypt, the European Summer with the Indignado's of Spain, and Occupy London, England. Velcrow will be featuring a screening of selected short videos from the Occupy Love project. Learn more at www.occupylove.org

Judy Rebick is a long-time activist, journalist and feminist in Toronto. Judy helped found rabble.ca and has written several books including her latest, Transforming Power: From the Personal to the Political (2009). Judy will be discussing her experience at Occupy Toronto, Wall Street and Vancouver in relation to her observations and participation in movements since the 1960s.

Stefonknee Wolscht is an LGBT2 activist in Toronto who organized with Occupy Toronto from day one. Stefonknee will be discussing what brought her to Occupy Toronto and sharing insights from what she learned there.
