Anti Fracking Bridge Shut Down of Akwesasne

The Deets:

Saturday November 9, 2013

International Bridges in Akwesasne

The Call Out:

FWD: Hydraulic fracturing or FRACKING is a process in which giant corporations doing to extract resources from the ground. What they do is inject highly toxic liquid chemicals into the ground at a high speed pressure to soften up the ground which releases natural gas and oil.

This is a very dangerous procedure and will destroy our water and lead to the genocide of millions if we don’t stand our ground and put an end to this. We have PIPELINES here in Akwesasne and they will most likely transport fracked gas through our territory.

What will happen to us if any of this gas leaks into our ground? Do you trust the durability of these pipelines? We all have to take charge and involve ourselves in this struggle. We have to stand with our brothers and sisters across Turtle Island because believe it or not there is strength in numbers.

The Mi’kmaq people in New Brunswick are experiencing brutality from the RCMP, US soldiers, and private mercenaries from what is told. We will stand with our brothers and sisters of the Mi’kmaq nation! On November 9th there will be a PEACEFUL march starting from the Solidarity Fire across from Twin Leaf.

The marchers will meet up with the Solidarity Fire on the island and we will all march across the CBSA post in Cornwall, around the traffic circle, and back. It will be a good time for everyone and we will all take something good from this experience back to our homes. NIAWEN and GOOD MEDICINE to ALL of you!
