It was already 45 minutes behind schedule, when protesters in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside stopped the Olympic torch in its tracks this morning.

Television stations cut away to commercials as Olympic security negotiated with the demonstrators to keep the torch relay going through the streets of Vancouver. Three minutes later, the torch was on its way.

Crowds line the streets to see the torch, and protesters are gathered along the route waiting for torch and its accompanying motorcade along Main Street.
